What the fukk are you talking about? Lombardi's entire identity is that of someone who learned at the side of Bill Walsh and is a "three-time Super Bowl-winning executive." This is about Lombardi being a fraud, having always been one, and purposely obfuscating or muddying his employment history to make him seem more credible than he is.
The episode has like ten minutes of Bill Walsh's kid shytting on Lombardi. This isn't about him being Bill's butt buddy.

Not a scandal but certainly a major problem when a coach regularly hands his unqualified friends important jobs on a sports team. You know, like hiring a flunkie defensive coordinator (Patricia) who has never coached offense to be your OC, alongside a flunkie special teams coach who has never coached offense (Judge) as the co-OC. While having a young QB.
While also stacking his front office with flunkies who can't evaluate draft talent, hence why the team fell apart so quickly after Brady left. It's clear Belichick cannot run an organization. I think he can still coach defense on the pro level but he's incapable of being a HC due to the way he makes decisions. Specifically, the way loyalty trumps talent in his mind, on every level. Be that executives, coaches, or players.
