Im glad he helped them out , it was the right thing to do .

As for him as president overall, I'll just say im disappointed . Yes I know he had republicans blocking him from passing policies that could help us but as president you could have got something done . Is the president just a figure head with no real power that he cant get anything to pass specifically for black people? Because it looked like he was only allowed to help every other damn minority except us.
You dudes love to drop misinformation on Obama. The black farmers were able to get their settlements because of Obama and pardoned hundreds of non-violent black prisoners that were locked up for drug offenses. Obama has been great president thus far. Policies that he helped pass had lifted this nation out of the recession and lowered the black unemployment rate to 8.1 percents from 16 percent. :stopitslime:

This is exactly what I'm talking about. A lot of people on here nitpick to justify a delusional narrative. Either ignorant or really bad trolling.

What narrative :heh: MBK isn't for black people and black orgs barely qualify for it. Obama has been a shytty president for black society and y'all are just sticking up for him cause hes not white :scust:

None of this is specifically for black people. try again

If obama was vetoing bills that could've helped black people then you'd have a point but if your gripe with obama is that he didn't create new laws to help black people then you should take your complaints to your congressman because the president can't write his own laws.

In this scenario he used his executive power to enforce the law as he wished it to be enforced.

Who benefits the most out of the "people of color" from my brother's keeper? Black people. End of story.

I was wondering when someone would say this. In his response to the Baltimore uprising, he did NOT diffrienciate between the ones who were vandalizing the police cars and those who weren't. Obama, being the president and having a reputable black background has to chose his words carefully and he did not. It sounded like any other white president would've said.
“There’s no excuse for the kind of violence that we saw yesterday. It is counterproductive. When individuals get crowbars and start prying open doors to loot, they’re not protesting. They’re not making a statement. They’re stealing,” he fumed.

“When they burn down a building, they’re committing arson. And they’re destroying and undermining businesses and opportunities in their own communities,” he said, adding that the violence is what people will remember most.

One burning building will be looped on television over and over and over again, and the thousands of demonstrators who did it the right way have been lost in the discussion.
How was that not differentiating?

I'm not falling for the "a rising tide lifts all ships" bullshyt. He specifically allocated resources to Native Americans, not people of color. He specifically allocated resources to Jews, not minorities. Hes been a huge advocate for LGBT issues. But when it comes to black people, were supposed to be fine with accepting half assed measures because we get helped too.

You can continue to cape for him if you want, but Obama has been a horrible president to black society.

It took him the last year of his presidency to drop it to 8.1 percent.

Meaning the whole time he has been president we have had a very high unemployment rate .

Nitpicking. My Brother's Keeper has loads of financial resources. You're just mad that he didn't say MY BROTHER's KEEPER IS ONLY FOR BLACK PEOPLE. Everyone with a brain knows its for black people. Other people of color such as latinos or indians who face similar issues happen to benefit from it too.

By the way, I'm pretty sure Obama created and signed the fair sentencing act. Which cut the penalty sentencing ratio between crack and powder cocaine from 100:1 to 18:1. So instead of black people getting football numbers for doing crack while white people got off light for coke, that gap has been closed. Obama wanted to make it 1:1 but the senate made him compromise to 18:1

I'm pretty sure Obama's Criminal Justice Reform's entire point was to reverse damage done by Reagan, Bush Sr and Clinton during the war on drugs and mass incarnation era which had numerous unfair sentencing laws including the three strike you're out policy, which effected black people more than anyone.

I'm pretty sure Obama has appointed more black judges and more black federal executives to work for him than any President in history.

But, I'm sorry Obama didn't walk into the office and tell whitey to hang himself and tell Assata Shakur she's free to come back to the US with no problems.
