Someone tell me why Davis is so against playing at Levi's, but is cool with teaming up with the chargers to move to LA instead?

If I were Raider fan from the town I'd be pissed.
Because he would be 50/50 owners of the stadium with the Chargers. Theres obviously financial advantages to playing in a stadium you own, or partly own, versus playing in a stadium that's owned by someone else. Also, I would assume he would have no control over Levi's stadium set up. One of the notorious problems with Levi's is their turf. Let's say Davis wanted that turf replaced again he'd be at the mercy of Jed York who could easily tell him to kick rocks.

i cant hear you after you said you HATE the lakers. only people HATING the lakers right now are bandwagon fans.

that run with the clippers, ran with the heat with bron, probably run with the cavs when bron went back until you found it was curry's time and now you're a gstate warrior fan to the fullest.

but back to the discussion at hand. the rams have old head fans. there are charger fans here that have made that commute. But its true there isnt a huuuge fan base for the rams or chargers in LA. but with all the hispanics in L.A you have to understand, they love their sports teams to death. i mean literally to death. so i can easily see a bunch of hispanic ram and charger fans come out of nowhere in a couple of years and be crazy loyal to them too.

This would be a chance of a lifetime for a young fan to pick a team from his city. he has 3 choices. and ride them out.

I been posting in Heat threads since 2007 when I joined SOHH....You better do some homework :dame:

Been a Heat fan since I was a lil nikka, my grandpa is from Broward...Plus they colors happened to go with the neighborhood I grew up in...Purple is against the rules:mjpls:

Mexicans love they teams but most of em are already Raiders fans :yeshrug:

Most of the Mexican football fans I see are Raiders, old school Ram fans, sprinkle of 49ers(mostly bandwagon), and a small sprinkle of Chargers- but that's mostly if they have San Diego ties.

Rams would sell out for sure. They run deep out here, especially if they bring back the old colors and unis. The Chargers- No. Maybe the first couple of games but outside of about 20,000 coming up from San Diego and the OC plus some locals who want to experience a NFL game once in a while I don't see the fan base who will give a sh*t about them throughout a 16 game season week in and week out. Everybody, myself included, hates that they show their games here on Sunday instead of the Raiders as it is. If they leave SD and don't re brand its franchise suicide if you ask me. They don't have the entire state behind them like the Raiders and to a lesser extent the 49ers do

Based on the reaction down here. I highly doubt that 20k Charger fans will drive up for a game. They will become casual Charger fans if they move, which will just be easier to watch on TV. I can't see fans driving up there to support putting money into Spanos' pockets either.
If they do in fact move. I'm done. I've invested too much money and emotion in the team. I don't wish them the best either :manny:

Well there it is.. they're f*cked if they move here then. :ld: They absolutely have to have some fans come up from SD because basically that's their fanbase. The Raiders and Rams could be .500 type teams but the city loves those two franchises so they could be good either way. Plus after 20 years with no NFL, if they don't already love you like the Raiders or Rams or unless its a new expansion franchise, alot of people aren't pulling away from their comfy couches and 50" HD televisions to gas up the car, pay seat licensing, and buy $200 dollar tickets, pay for parking, beer and food, etc for some sh*t they don't care about.

That's the thing that never made sense. Once Kroenke made moves on LA, it made Spanos jump fast and try to get into the market first. He's said "we can't let another team move into that market...LA is 25% of our fan base. We can't survive if we lose that"
Which confuses me because he's willing to go up there to save 25% of his fan base, but alienate the remaining 75% here ?
Your spot on though. It's easier for people down here to just save money and time, from the comfort of their couch. While watching the organization that neglected you.

Kroenke wants to pay for his own stadium in LA.

Spanos and Davis want the tax payer to pick up the tab.

Chargers ownership is :trash: All problems with the Chargers start and end with the Spanos family.

Doesn't make sense at all. I don't get that. And where did he get the 25% from? I know the OC has some Charger fans but the LA area? If he's getting 25% fans from LA then the Chargers should be selling out every home game if that's the case. Plus they had no problem when the Raiders and Rams were in LA 20 years ago but now Spanos has a problem if even one team is in LA??:what: I could see years ago when the Baltimore Orioles had a problem with the Expos moving to DC cause the O's had a lot of fans come up from DC plus you're talking about trying to fill a ballpark for 82 home game. But this is football. Its just 8 home games a year.. if you combine the entire LA and SD's metro areas you're talking about over 20 million people. I don't get this Spanos guy and the numbers he spews out

If the Warriors can pay for their own arena so could he. He shytting on the Bay again because he penny pinching. fukk dude for that.
The Dubs are owned by the billionaire Oracle dude right? Mark Davis isn't even in that realm. He's poor compared to the Warriors owner. He can't build his own stadium by himself. The Raiders and the Cal Bears should've done something together while Cal was remodeling their stadium

Just read a minute ago that Kroenke wants to build a stadium there no matter what for a possible Olympics in LA and World Cups and shyt like that. He probably wants to keep the option in that area in case he could move another team there in the future if the Rams are forced to stay.

I've heard that with this new stadium on the riverfront in STL that a team will be here no matter what, but just growing up as a fan of this team (they moved here when I was 12), and bobbing and weaving with the Super Bowl runs, I want to remain a fan of this franchise. It'll take another 20+ years to build a generation worth of equity in a fan base. Someone born in 1995 is about to turn 21 this year. All they've known if they live in STL is Rams football since birth. That's how the Cardinals have developed a fan base here. Been in the city for 100+ years and people's fathers and grandfathers and great grandfathers were all fans. With that being said, an expansion team or another relocated team to STL is better than no team at all. Just stating preference.

You know whats crazy? The Rams' current stadium is less than 25 years old, yet there's talks of a NEW STADIUM. :mindblown: In the talks of a new stadium, do any critics bring up that the Rams don't need a new venue because they already have a relatively new stadium?
