Saw quite a few people at the clippers game last night wih LA Rams gear :wow:

@pete clemenza
I did too. In-between time outs the camera man flashes the crowd and puts it on the big screen, like they do in every arena... Well they put the camera on this dancing kid with a Clipper jersey and he happened to have a Rams hat on. After he danced for a while the kid started pointing to his Rams hat and the camera zoomed in on the hat and the crowd went nuts:wow: Its the talk of the town right now. That sh*t is gonna be a success brehs:ohlawd:

I feel like what is happening to the Chargers is fukked up though.. San Diego should of been built them a stadium. They chose the Padres instead :scust:
There's 82 home baseball games tho as compared to 8 football games a year. The city, the stadium, bars, restaurants, etc in the area cake up with baseball and basketball

From the San Diego side of things......

Don't read too much into reports of the Chargers moving to LA (for now). Most reports are stating that the framework is done for a partnership with the Rams, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the Chargers will accept.

As of yesterday, our city counsel and mayor came out stating that "we want a start fresh, to workout a new stadium deal here in San Diego". The interesting tidbit was....the Mayor of SD had a press conference yesterday at 11am to discuss the city's eagerness, to get a stadium built here. Now...here is where things got interesting. Apparently yesterday morning, Roger Goodell called the San Diego mayor (before his press conference) and urged the mayor to get a deal done.

Are the Chargers negotiating with Kroenke and the Rams ? Of course he is. This is business. He needs to weigh out all his options and crunch the numbers, to see what location would be more profitable for the team. It would be dumb not to analyze all the options. Keep in mind, Spanos has publicly stated that he doesn't like Kroenke, and doesn't trust him.....but money always talks.

Something everyone should remember. If the Raiders or Chargers move to LA, whoever moves will need to come up with the 550 million dollar relocation fee. And both teams don't have that. That's a lot to pay to become Kroenke's "tenant". I wouldn't be surprised if Kroenke is jacking up the price, so that the Rams are the only team in LA. (I think this would be the best thing anyways)

From what I saw today, Oakland's mayor is doing the same thing as the city if San Diego, and attempting to negotiate with the team.

I saw it mentioned on here, and its been verified by the San Diego city counsel (Ron Roberts). If the Chargers do in fact go to LA, there is a good chance that the city will approach the Raiders to come to SD.

Do you think that Dean and the city will finally put their differences to the side and work out a deal :patrice:? Also, what is your location preference with regards to the stadium?

I don't think that the City has a problem with Dean. The problem was always Dean's voice/lawyer, Mark Fabiani. Fabiani was always the person shytting on the city and the current proposal. I think that the City leaders are ready, eager, and focused on working out a "fair" deal which is good for both the Chargers and tax payers (citizens on san diego). All Dean and the Chargers have to do is come back to the negotiating table, and let the city know "what they want".

Since I was a youngster, all ive known was the current Mission Valley site (qualcomm). The stadium is centrally located in the heart of SD, and has access to multiple freeways, and already has the trolley line running right through it. The main thing I love about the current location is the Tailgating :banderas:.

When Petco park was built for the Padres, it revitalized downtown (east village). The Gaslamp (poppin part of downtown sd) area is an attraction of its own. And all the bars, clubs, and hotels make good revenue during Padre games and Comic-Con. The Chargers and the NFL would love downtown. Downtown would be cool, but a downtown stadium would take much longer to build (need to find space) and cost a lot more. Plus, a downtown stadium would eliminate tailgating.

I really don't care where the location is...I just want football in San Diego.

Also...everyone keep in mind. The Chargers were doing fine in San Diego, even when LA previously had the Rams and Raiders.

Channel 8 was doing interviews outside of LA fitness in Kerney Mesa yesterday asking fans about the situation when I was leaving. I know that the mayor wants Dean to keep his lawyer away from the negotiations for now on. Plus it would be blasphemous to have the Raiders playing in San Diego :what:. That would be like my Buckeyes having home games in Ann Arbor playing in front of piss color fans:dame:. My roommate show me the location where they could put the stadium in downtown and it would be perfect since it would be close to Gaslamp but your right about tailgating being eliminated due to limited space. As a Browns fan who watch his team moved, I hope that the city gets to keep the squad. Football is never the same once your home team is gone for good.

These are the biggest factors right here. They're talking about this on the radio now. That $550 million relocation fee is a monster and they can't stand Kronke. Think about it they went to having their own stadium in Carson to now having to be a tenant in Inglewood under Kronke. Not a good look at all. Plus I heard something that the 'tenant' might not be able to get in on the profits from other events that'll be held at the new stadium or that their percentage of other events outside of football is small compared to what Kronke would get- but that's to be expected cause he's paying for the whole entire project out of his pocket. Chargers better stay put. They can work things out with the fans. Its was only business
