These companies are ruthless. If BMF is hot they'll ride the wave...if ppl shyt on you they get to dumping on you too.

Reebok don't give a fidduck what he raps about as long as he's cool with the public.

What's funny is if this controversy was to make him even more popular and popping they'd be fighting over him.

Look what controversy has done for Paris Hilton.

Dude basically didn't even apologize saying that he apologizes if the lyrics were interpreted wrong

:comeon: How can they be misinterpreted?

The funny thing is, if fat fukk had been contrite & sincere with his "explanation/apology", he'd still be on Reebok's payroll.

:childplease:

You think liberal cacs care about a n1gga apologizing?

Imus apologized profusely and went on air with Jessie Jackson and they still bodied him...

Juan Williams still got fired from NPR after explaining and apologizing his statements on Muslims on airplanes..

Mike Vick has been on a non stop apology tour for 5 years and still has to cancel his book tour for death threats in 2013..

They don't want apologies.. They want to make examples out of people....

I'm waitin to hear Ross' response to gettin dropped by Reebok. He's probably gonna come up with more of his ambiguous answers. He will talk in circles and give empty and baseless rhetoric.

I bet Reebok told his azz "Ain't no checks gettin cut" :russ:

See this is the thing that bothers me. They didn't trip off the fact his music promotes drug dealing and violence in the black community, but for the fact that he hinted at date rape on someone's song. fukk Reebok, and I don't care about their shyt anyway
not really. feminsts are just better organised. if the people that dont mess with drugs and black on black violence were as organised, i am pretty sure it wouldt reach that level. but camel has explained to rich caacs that its all just art, not real.

nikkas still bringing up Em? He didn't have endorsement deals, and groups were still protesting him hard back in 1999/2000. Remember how crazy feminist and gay groups about him going to the Grammys back then, when he did Stan with Elton?

Those dudes either have a very short memory or are just kids who, as usual, are ignorant to the history of things that have happened in rap music.

How does this hurt hiphop? Ross can make a whole album about rape and release it independently if Def Jam is not having it, he should just not expect to get shoe deals from it. And like alot of people already pointed out, Em had no shoe deals to lose, and he wasn't Slim Shady doing interviews with a chainsaw talking about slashing gays. Ross never gets out of character, and he's looking like a goddamn fool.

You and ppl like u are too busy having fun bashing Ross to see the true implications of this. Hiphop used to be the ultimate freedom of speech but that will cease to exist with all these "special interest" groups having the powers that they do these days. Its crazy that hiphop fans of all ppl are celebrating this....

I think those ppl mean that HIPHOP didnt protest Em, in fact WE PROTECTED him when all those ppl wanted his head. Now fast forward to 2013 and Ems fans of all ppl are happy about another rapper losing paper over a controversial line in a song. Thats the part that im shaking my head at.

This isn't about freedom of speech..

They can still make songs about whatever they want.. They just don't have the luxury of doing so while enjoying profitable relationships with huge American corporations (which some would argue isn't hip hop anyway)

remember Kanyes, that lit up on the bottom when he walked..? :laff:

How do you know this?? Curious. U know you can write anything in contracts. Anything meaning upfront can be paid back if you are dropped for good reason.

i know their brand manager.. I've also had numerous shoe contracts myself..

The non hip hop media made it about rape. When Ross said the lyric was misinterpreted that should have been the end of it. Now anytime a rapper say something that the non hip hop crowed does not get he will face losing money for something that he did not even mean in the way it was said.

like the one cat said- y'all too busy hating on Ross.. had this happened to Jay-Z, y'all would all be in here crying about how sensitive the media is about rap..
