Pump faking. Radiation will make it to Belarus and Russia.
Putin knows that would be suicide.

Russia is the #1 exporter of wheat in the world, Ukraine is 5th. Russia is the world's largest exporter of fertilizers too. So hello food shortages.

They're a huge exporter of cobalt, nickel, platinum, and tungsten too.

I don't think people realize how interdependent the world has become.
Other countries will step in to make up for it. Just like Europe has replaced over 80% of Russian gas with alternatives.
Life goes on. Putin planned on using energy as a weapon and it backfired.

People who say "There wouldn't be a Russia tomorrow", what do you actually expect countries to do? Launch a hundred nukes at Russia and kill millions of people because of a decision their leadership made? Get in a nuclear fight with Russia and accept dozens of nukes coming back to hit your own country because of something they did to someone else?

Launching nukes would obviously be on Putin's head, any response would have to hit directly on Putin and/or his military. Blowing up random cities wouldn't just be a massive human rights violation, it also would have little impact on Putin himself. What does he care? You got to hit him where it counts, not just randomly carpet bomb the largest land mass on Earth.

Gotta think this shyt through. Not saying there would be no response but it is far more complex than you think. If the USA or anyone else has a special "assassination" button for Putin (targeted strike, deep-cover asset), they probably call in that shyt. Other than that, though, I'm not sure even American leadership know exactly how they would respond depending on how many nukes Russia used, where they used them, what we thought they were going to do next, etc.
If Russia was to drop a nuke, I'd imagine it would mean NATO troops in Ukraine for a defense instead of Ukraine defending themselves with just NATO intelligence and funding. I think we'd be foolish to just try to drop a nuke on Russia. Hell I think it would be foolish to invade Russia immediately in any capacity over this.

While I don't think Russia is going to launch anything nuclear, y'all do realize they have cleaner bombs right? That's exactly what a tactical nuke is, the explosive and radioactive yield is significantly lower. Escalate to de-escalate.

The US knows almost everything Russia is doing, and its a large part Ukraine is going toe to toe with Russia. The only circumstance I can see Vladimir pushing the button is if he took losses significant enough that his own people would displace him. At that point if his own people don't kill him, I fully believe the US would pull some Socom Seal Team Six shyt and off him and just deal with the political fallout.
