Both those governors are more liberals than actually republicans governors.It’s like Massachusetts and Maryland. Super Dem majorities in state legislature and voters think they need a check on that or they’ll pay more tax.

He would have not won re-election in Maryland if he was a right winger. Larry hogan did well with black voters in his election race
He is a right winger Breh he’s just competent
he just can’t implement his agenda cause of the legislature. And voters didn’t know of his record. That’s why his approval ratings are high

In state government having a liberal Republican governor/mayor and a solid Dem majority state house/city council is sometimes much better than having all Dem control. Some of these mfers don't know how to act when we have all the power. Illinois/Chicago is a perfect example.
