Man, I knew this day would come, but that doesn't make this news any easier to swallow. Ali was hugely influential in my family's life and was a friend of the family. My dad actually used to spar with him and was in his entourage after he brought him into the NOI. I have a picture of him holding me up as a baby kissing me. This is very tough news, but its a bit easier to take knowing the humanitarian and true gem of a person he was. He was legendary in his selflessness, there are thousands of stories from people who've met him who speak about his generosity and kindness.

RIP To the Greatest.

Everyone should checkout the documentary "The Trials of Muhammed Ali" that covered his refusal to serve in the Vietnam war. Saw it a few years ago and it made me appreciate his greatness even more. The fact he gave up the fortune, fame and his world title to sit in prison for 3 years during his prime for his personal beliefs/faith was admirable. Its a must watch.
