because of foreman himself..foreman was devastated by his loss in rumble in the jungle..he took all over the next year off to deal with it

came back in 76 and rattled off good wins..including another KO of joe frazier and an all time great slugfest vs ron lyle

he was on the verge of another shot at ali..but he got upset by Jimmy Young, suffered heat stroke/exhaustion after the fight, found god, and retired for 10 years

Foreman was in SUCH shock he lost that fight to Ali..that dude didn't think anyone could whoop his ass at 26. He couldn't believe it. it broke him.
