Here lossing her job is the reason why her first resort should not have been escalating the situation. She was dealing with a child you don't stoop down to a child's level as an adult. Now she's going to have to live with the consequences of her actions.

If you're going to stoop to a child's level, fight them like they're a peer, argue with them like they're your peers, you don't get the right to complain about "disrespect" from young folks towards you. Back in the 90s teachers were dealing with walkmans, gameboys, eastbay magazines...
Now every student has a cellphone/entertainment/recording device.

I remember I went to a juco in Tallahassee back in 08...got cool with a old head from pompano he going back to school to teach but was also a substitute at that time ..I remember him saying back then you gotta catch they mamas and daddies at the club real talk lol this was back then it's for sure ten times worse now
