Was hyundai founded here? You want American founded businesses to hire and invest in Americans and stay in America, correct?

Or do you want ALL businesses to hire, invest and put up shop in America?

If you want globalization to end, just say that. All i'm saying it goes both ways, we can move outside and follow the money and low COL too.

I think a great policy to have is where businesses who move from USA to outside or come here must have on staff a certain percentage of American born workers or be penalized heavily.

Maybe 80-85% percent or more for USA founded companies and 75-80% for foreign ones in every department.

Think this video brings it up (I could be wrong tho)

I dont think you understood my post.

When a US job is posted the competition is from every country

When a job is posted in another country it is localized, exception to the rule may be your UK, Germany, etc but it still isnt at the scale of USA. The point is doesnt matter who the country os when everyone gets a chance to double or triple dip jobs

I heard that the point of him doing this is to offer exceptions for tech companies that bend the knee.

Basically extortion.
It's also to paint a narrative of being friendlier to American tech labor. That one-time 100K fee for each H1B isn't a ton of money. Especially for a tech company that make Billions.

Now he may threaten these companies with raising fee later as a means to extort them. But I think most companies we're onboard with this half measure. Because they probably didn't like the bad publicity from these visas either. And they all dreamed up this scam together.

Western Europe (ex UK) is worse than the US because Eastern Europe exists with millions of skilled graduates who not only apply for the jobs but thanks to freedom of movement, do not need a visa to move and work locally.

Further they are yt which displaces brehdom.

Plus Europe has a smaller landmass with good transport infrastructure, meaning simpler logistics.

Add outsourcing to that along with special IT visas and special deals for India.

The UK is a special case which has both the Us penchant for India along with mass skilled EU immigration (until a couple of years ago).

Who is stopping Americans from pursuing these degrees though? Go to any university’s engineering program and then compare that to say, Marketing.

All of STEM has a weedout problem. (And that's in the US, it's much worse in Asia - straight up hunger games)

A lot of STEM jobs are few and far between relatively speaking.

Like typical chem/bio/civil eng/aerospace eng major, if they can even find a job in the field, isn't making the big bucks.

There aren't enough employers to compete for workers.

On both sides - employers expect high profits and employees expect high salaries. Guess who has more power?

Thats fair, my point still stands on not being able to double/triple dip

you wouldn’t be happy if the perfect outcome was to occur

You have no idea what I'd be happy with, so good luck with your fishing expeditions and trying to change the subject.

Trump & Co, are grifting thieves, end of story. All this other babble is just looking for someone to blame other than those responsible.
