Maybe now American STEM graduates will be able to get jobs. I've worked in tech for over a decade. And would much rather work with someone straight out of college over an H1B anyday.

:mjlol: tariq elite education family.. yes indeed fam.

You can be both H1B and straight out of an american college ...

The Government should slap higher fees on all these employment visas.

This will greatly impact higher education research

There are not enough highly skilled workers and H1B's helped close that gap

We're not talking regular jobs, but specialized jobs in STEM fields

The right doesn't even want ppl to go to college

Craziness

uni H1B visas were not included in the previous limits and were more or less guaranteed I think.

maybe they are still a special case.

international organisations are slightly different too IIRC e.g. UN, or IFIs like the World Bank, African Development Bank etc.

This actually gives American people better opportunities.

But wait until the Tech companies outsource those jobs to India:mjlol:

It will force most of the best Indian and Chinese talent to stay home.

This is very good for IT hubs like Bangalore and Hyderabad who competed with the US market for talent.

This is also an opportunity for Canada, Australia etc. to poach the best talent

india is not good at developing its own non-service based IT / technology companies.

unlike china.

This not on topic but I hope the next president is a Democrat not because of policy but media coverage.

The media and online spaces always talking about this guy 24/7. Whether it's for or against whatever the hell he happen to be doing at the moment.

I don't think there's any current dem that will be getting talked about and covered this much. HOLY fukkING shyt.

You really, really gotta understand that your perceptions of the world are not set in stone!

Remember 15 years ago, Americans were saying the Chinese can’t innovate? Now look! Chinese EVs and AI are shocking Tesla and Chatgpt.

India may develop other forms of tech industries within the next 20 years or so. Accordingly, it’s not helpful to say “Chinese can’t do X…” or “Indians can’t do Y…”

It’s not the same
I manage a team and it’s not the same.

For example I have this one Japanese on my team and you could not have his Japanese mind if he was born here. He has a totally different way of looking at things and solving problems.

Also you should take a look at the U.Ss ranking in education. It’s not like that’s not a factor.

Plus I’m sorry but immigrants are much more harder working people.

In any case I’m not mad at this.
One of us will be proven wrong and maybe we need to see that act out.

But this is all so Trump can make money, the people won’t see a penny from this.
Nikka thats some bs. I work with nothing but indians. And im arguably the best on my team.

i am an immigrant tho. I been here since i was 9 lol
