it's pretty hard to defend it as a success :yeshrug:

the waste, bloat, and failure is obvious. can anyone actually defend it as a success? i'd be curious to read

This is objectively true. In theory the DoE is great, in actual practice it has been a complete failure. The DoE at the least needed a massive overhaul a long time ago. It's just who is shutting it down that is the problem.

I hate this trope....

*Sighs* I get it...Republicans are so damn demonic but if they pass every single thing that's involves a piece of paper..

  • The voters are not having that shyt
  • Some Republicans are tired of that fukking orange cracker
  • Law suits
  • Some states especially deep red south low key need the DOE
This is just Trump's patting the ground with his crusty foot because low key he's possibly the worst president we have ever had.

Dude is just a sitting duck trying to prove he got a big dikk, but constantly getting fukked like the oversized coochie he resembles.
So when is that gonna happen?

You think they give a fukk about their voter base? They’re already messing with Medicaid and social security. They only care about pleasing Trump.

Does this mean we no longer have to pay taxes to schools? Or will they still be taking our money regardless but now no longer have any oversight.
(meaning essentially that we are paying them to discriminate against our kids now if they elect to.)

If or rather when the U.S. Department of Education shuts down, kids could lose:

- Special Education Services – Help for students with disabilities (IDEA).

- Protection from Discrimination – Rights under Title IX (gender) and civil rights laws (race, disability, etc.).

- Funding for Low-Income Schools – Money that helps struggling schools (Title I).

-Privacy Rights – Protection of student records (FERPA).

- Support for English Learners – Help for students learning English.

- School Safety Programs – Anti-bullying and mental health support.

Why would parents with public school children especially in poor red states not want these things?

States already control public school curriculums, teacher certification requirements, school funding distribution, and graduation standards which is what most of y'all complain about.
This needs to be talked about more! People keep screaming about the federal government indoctrination of schools when it's states and local school districts that are in charge. That's why you had some schools like Texas or Florida tried to say slaves were immigrants and/or workers.

So now the Feds can say no more funding from us and states have to cover the bill? This will lead to further inequalities as folks with money will pay for better funded private schools and state public schools will suffer tremendously
And poor states, which overwhelmingly are red, will suffer the most. Places like Mississippi are fukked!

Unfortunately, most people don’t even know basic civics or how the branches of government work.

They just parroting some ish they saw on a Facebook Reel, YouTube short, or in a meme.

Then they go to those podcast and obviously biased media outlets and parrot whatever talking point supports their point of view.
