We on a forum brah
One you take very seriously when it suits you.

I'll elaborate on my point (something you typically fail to do). You claim that America failed to achieve it's objects in Iraq. I feel that's a naive way to look at it because it assumes that "spreading democracy" was America's objective. In other words, you're buying into the American party line only when you can use it to support your narrative. When the American party line goes against your narrative then you claim it's lies that only ignorant Americans are buying. Well, do you really think we invaded Iraq to spread democracy? We invaded Iraq because the military industrial complex stood to make a killing from government contracts, and it did. The fact that we are re-committing to Iraq is nothing more than a doubling down on that original money grab. Low approval ratings, poor polling results, hell, even protests...all that shyt is meaningless as long as the money keeps flowing. And keep flowing it will. I agree with you that America cant keep up this scam forever....but it's nowhere near ready to collapse. Not in our lives at least.

Now, call me stupid and offer zero support as to why.

Nope. Installing a cooperative government was the goal.

Has more to do with a Qatar-Syria pipeline and oil in Kurds possession, military industrial complex is gravy

America not forcing Britain and France to properly partition the Levant has has been a lingering headache that will only grow.

And the Iraqi government which is requesting our assistance, and allowing us free reign within their borders and in their airspace is not cooperative?

Syria not Iraq...and the Iraqi government isn't a real thing.

And? This is about scarce resources and cooperative governments, the military industrial complex is all antecedent.

:beli: This exchange started based on your comment that American failed to achieve it's objectives in Iraq. Stay focused.

Again, what does this have to do with Iraq? Difficult to continue if you can't stay focused.

This is about Syria.

The US will have to keep putting flimsy governments in place in Iraq for resources. That isn't news.

The US gov thinks it can nation build and it cannot. Syria is going to resemble Iraq and the extremist groups will grow stronger from it.

This can all be traced back to the end of WW1 and not as the product of the the military industrial complex.

Cheney: 'No Fair' That Obama Gets to Bomb Syria

NEW YORK -

In an appearance on Fox News today, former vice president dikk Cheney said it was "no fair" that President Obama gets to bomb Syria. "I'm envious as hell," he told Sean Hannity. "That was on my bucket list."

Agreed regarding WW1, however America can't claim responsibility for Sykes-Picot. Also agree regarding nation building, however nation building, in my estimation, is not the real goal. Weak, dependent governments are the goal. Iraq achieved that. Syria will eventually as well. Democrats just tend to be a bit more indirect in their approach...same result, though.

shyt, we even got Iran to turn a corner

That dude is evil :mjlol:

Gotta at least admire his acceptance of that. No beating around the bush with Cheney.
