This Gannon is the Twilight Princess version of Ganon. Looks like they will convert the Breath of the Wild Hyrule into the Twilight version and the transformation Link takes will be a mutation he uses to fight in that world. Perhaps he'll be stuck there and Zelda will be stuck in the real Hyrule and gameplay will be divided between playing both or she will tag along and you can switch between the two using abilities exclusive to each other opening up Zelda for co-op.
