Green bean casserole = Europeans afoot...

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid

I must have missed the memo that this was a white dish...

Cause it was one of my favorite dishes at family Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners growing up as a kid...

And there wasn't a white face in sight.

It was good as hell with the cream of mushroom soup and french onions on top.

My auntie was the only one who made it for us, and I haven't had it since she died over a decade ago.

That's how exactly how my mama used to make it (she's black lol).

But even then I understood it to be not a typical black dish.

Something about having Mac and cheese, collards, pork chops and cornbread on the table next to a big ol dish of green bean casserole screams "one of these things are not like the other" lol

The green bean casserole = whiteness narrative had to have been birthed online or by a bad stand up comic…. cause if you’re black, live in the south and got an aunt over the age of 60, you’ve probably had some slamming green bean casseroles for at least 10 Thanksgivings in a row….

Yea I mean I've never in my life had green bean casserole and it was never welcomed in me or family members house. Too many other casseroles to make that hit. Now broccoli and rice casserole ....

I don't even see the coli getting this sensitive when people post videos going in on black folks.

Let me come to find out half the coli got white mommas/daddies. It would explain some things...:mjpls::yeshrug:
