Yep. This is an unhealthy system that was developed.

The land provides all we need. We’d probably have more fulfilling lives and relationships if we lived simple lives in small communities.

But at some point one group wants to take over another group, etc and the cycle begins again.

Ionno. At this point, make the wisest investments possible and retire as early as possible. 🤷🏾‍♀️ The corporate “rat race” is not the lifestyle humans were designed to have.

He has some points but his folks should honestly keep an eye on him. The system as it is constructed is built off a worker class to sustain itself. They need people to consume and keep consuming more and put themselves in debt to keep it running. The biggest way to rail against the system is honestly to consume less. You can't have all the means of sustenance in your backyard but you can grow a small garden and use the excess to batter and trade with other local farmers. You can't Control all levers but you can built system of happiness for yourself. Just don't fall into the trap of chasing external validation

Can't see the video, but based on the comments, sounds like some self-centered, brokenese gibberish? :patrice:

You wouldn't have that food if suppliers didn't supply it for you. Those things take labor and commitment to do. Quit being a degenerate and pay those as a sign or appreciation for what they had to do to provide you with what you need. :camby:

Sorry but this is misguided and idiotic. Blame your parents for not teaching you how the world works

"We go to the grocery store, and pay for food that God gave it to us for free!!!"

We are so deep in Industrialization that we are so clueless how hard it used to be to get food for ourselves. Farming, Hunting, Manufacturing, Transporting, Butchering & Preparing food takes ALOT of work and human labor to get it all nice and neatly stocked in a Grocery store a couple miles from your home. Of course it's not free, duh

Nah man, I think you are missing the point.
Industrialization made food abundant, and safe for billions of people.
But the cost of that abundance was centralization, and now a few massive corporations control huge portions of:

Seed genetics (Monsanto/Bayer),
Fertilizer and pesticide supply chains,
Distribution networks (logistics, cold storage, grocery monopolies),
And even marketing control over what we think we want to eat.
Also even meats, what is it like 2 companies own all the meat production?

This man was not wrong, he was talking about a loss of connection, you took it too literally.
We traded decentralized farming and self-reliance for profit-driven abundance.

Good old bootstrap coli at it again :russ:
Two things can be true dikkhead

Nah I'm just physical embodiment of the failure of your parents. If the way to mask your frustrations is to make my words into a typical "bootstraps reply", then so be it

This is why I am thankful that be in a field where I like my job. I tried the warehouse thing, the restaurant thing, and the hotel thing and it wasn’t for me. Had to get right and now I’ve been in a 25 year career slinging a camera that affords me now a day shift, weekends off, and certain perks that I am not ready to give up yet. That making money just to give away shyt is for the birds though.. that’s why I be trying to do what I can to have the least amount of bills possible. These stupid ass streaming services on top of your regular bills don’t help either
I tell people something similar all the time and they look at me like I'm crazy. At the end of the day I see true freedom as being able to do what I can. So I live below my means and try to pay off all debt and keep my bills low. It provides me with a ton of flexibility because I'm not forced to work a job or pull an extra shift because I have to. Too many are consumed with owning more and chasing more that when they finally lift their head outta the water they see that they've trapped themselves on that treadmill
