We are so deep in Industrialization that we are so clueless how hard it used to be to get food for ourselves. Farming, Hunting, Manufacturing, Transporting, Butchering & Preparing food takes ALOT of work and human labor to get it all nice and neatly stocked in a Grocery store a couple miles from your home. Of course it's not free, duh

If you don't want to work a 9-to-5 then create your own means of production, start Farming and Hunting, create your own Schools and Banks, etc. If you don't want to do all of those things, then show up 8am tomorrow morning and enjoy your job lol

Back then, pre WW2, it used to be commonplace for majority of families to own a small business, own farmland, lean very heavily in the Skilled Trades. When you own a business, especially a business you can pass down to your kids, you own some type of agency in your life. You don't HAVE to toil and slave away at a corporate job because you have another source of income...
But somehow after WW2, we decided moving to Suburbia, Keeping up with the Jone's, and getting that Coporate job with the corner office was more important than having agency over your life. Then it eroded even more in the late 90se early 2000s when media started pushing that EVERY child should go to college, and pursuing skilled trades was sign of a lack of intellect

So if you don't like this life, you can always start farming and hunting again, But if you don't, then show up to work tomorrow at 8am. Simple. Listening to crazy people on Tik Tok who look like they want to be the next serial killer isn't going to change anything lol

Industrialization made food abundant, and safe for billions of people.
But the cost of that abundance was centralization, and now a few massive corporations control huge portions of:

Seed genetics (Monsanto/Bayer),
Fertilizer and pesticide supply chains,
Distribution networks (logistics, cold storage, grocery monopolies),
And even marketing control over what we think we want to eat.
Also even meats, what is it like 2 companies own all the meat production?

No.. SOME of us did. The people who didn't, OWN FARMS. Or do business with them. They buy rugs from rug stores and not Walmart. They have a rain barrel for water instead of buying it. But that requires you put in a lot of extra WORK and/or MONEY and/or TIME in order to not be apart of the system. Which is going to take away from things like your job and your family and your fun. So most people go ahead and go to the local.......... Nope. Cheaper to go to Walmart...... Nope. Easier to have them deliver.........
