the judge wasn't the one who closed down all of the mental institutions that people like him would normally go, that decision was made way above his head by people who don't care about any of us ages ago and no one in government wants to reverse it for some reason

it's ridiculous that someone can be locked up multiple times for violent outburst, have a verifiable mental illness, and still just be tossed into gen pop in jail and then released back onto the streets with regular civilians

Two things can be true at once guys..we need to get more resources into the mental health network, but this guy was cracked with an insane rap sheet and absolutely shouldn't have been released on cashless bail. friend of mine is an attorney who has a city PD for a client
they have to audit citizen complaints and half the time it's a complaint from a paranoid schizo type person complaining that the cops are conspiring against them or doing fraud or some ish.
i say all this to say the cops know very well where a lot of the crazy people are and interact with them often (even if they're not right there in the jails) if governments really wanted to address mental health issues
