From my experiences, African criminals aren't normal and might actually be suicidal. If you've ever witnessed a barbaric mob justice, you'd wonder why somebody would insist on becoming a thief. Some even escape mob justice by the skin of their teeth and instead of reforming...go back to their vices. Hard to explain this
