People should learn a second language anyway.

Learn the basics. But not at the PhD level. How many people can be 100% fluent and proficient with another language, like a native born speaker? Very few.

When I applied for Temp jobs, the agencies would require you to take tests that gauge your competency in all of the apps within Microsoft's Office suite. I was always in the 90th percentile, leaving the people interviewing me confused that I possessed that kind of aptitude. And it wasn't that I even had extensive knowledge in the functionality of Word or Excel or Powerpoint. The questions could be answered by applying logic after you looked the scenario detailed in the question. Still, in spite of how well I did, they rarely had jobs for a breh.
