Lebron is pretty well adjusted all, father or no father.

its always someone talking like this throwing from a glass house
Agree and disagree. I don't like how he shoehorned Bronny into the league, but white folks been doing that since forever. White people when they have the opportunity put their people in a position to win, even when it's patently not fair.

In the grand scheme, Bron is doing just fine without his father in his life. Poor comparison.

Yeah he's well adjusted but I think the point breh in the video was trying to make is that he appears to overcompensate probably as a result of not having his father. It makes sense, he went extra hard for his son because he never had his father go that hard for him. And he does seem more sensitive to criticism than MJ or Kobe were, which probably would've been mitigated if he had a father instill confidence into him from a young age. Even tho I probably would've turned out OK, I'd imagine my personality would be different if my mother or father abandoned me as a child. And shoehorning your kids into business is different from sports. Bernard Arnault shoehorned his kids into LVMH but they still had to work there way up thru the company to the equivalent of an NBA roster spot.

I’ve said a version of this for years. He’s a model citizen but being the youngest in charge is definitely been visible throughout his career

How do yall get on here and say dumb shyt like this and expect to be taken seriously…. ?So a father going extra hard for his son = him not having a father his own life?

No people who lacked in their childhood often go above and beyond for their children so they never feel the same way. So it would make sense for Bron to go extra hard for his kids to ensure they never feel like he did. Seems like a lot of y’all lack critical thinking.

I got you.

Again, this is a bad comparison. I’m not even some huge LeBron fan, but you’re talking about a guy who’s been a billionaire with a mic in his face basically every day of his adult life. If he gets a little sassy sometimes, that’s the cost of living under a microscope for 20+ years.

The bigger point: he’s a billionaire with no real public scandals, raising his kids and leveraging the access he has. That’s not unique to him. Sports is full of legacy pipelines. Curry, Griffey, Kobe, Klay, Shanahan, McVay, Luke Walton, Austin Rivers, GP2 and hundreds of others all benefited from proximity and opportunity through their fathers. That doesn’t mean they didn’t have to perform, but let’s not pretend those doors open equally for everyone. Comparing that to some “overcompensation from not having a father” psych analysis is a reach.

And yeah, Bronny getting drafted to play with LeBron is fair to critique. I didn’t love that at all either. But let’s keep the same energy across the board. In the NFL alone there have been dozens of father-son coaching pipelines where the first job came directly from dad; coaches need to perform too. In the NBA there are several also. Legacy access in sports and business is normal. For some reason, when a Black player does it publicly, it suddenly becomes a character study. That double standard is what people are reacting to.

There are 10,000 other fatherless problems to pick at; and hear me... I DON'T LIKE that LeBron did it, BUT I suspect buddy doesn't even LIKE LeBron which is probably what's driving why he made this whole video. People ALWAYS move the goalposts for black folks and the shame of it is, some of it be your own people.

That is not a symptom of what you’re trying to describe and there is no way to quantify it… I can show you heavily invested parents and also had heavily invested parents, and I can show you parents who didn’t have a lot coming up and there kids are getting even less….. At the end of the day, not haven’t a lot doesn’t even mean money…. cause at the end of the day, parenting is about love, instruction, and attention… you don’t need a bag to provide those things…..

Ray Daniels didn’t even seem like the type to explore this type of thought process… Anything for clicks I guess

I think its tough to compare the two. Kobe grew up spending a good portion of his life in Italy then back to the states. In addition to having 2 solid parents he's more worldly. Bron on the other hand grew up in a single parent house she was dealing with many men. She didn't know who Bron father was.

As much as I dog Bron im sure growing up without a father mother unstable has to do something to your self worth and esteem. He's done a good job of dealing with his upbringing. There have been times in a game where he seems uncertain. I always thought he was the superstar with the least amout of alpha.

Its ok to like Kobe. Its ok to not like Bron. Its not ok to make stuff up as the basis for this...at least thats how my pops raised me :mjpls:

This is absolutely not true. Take a look at what was actually said and done by these people and not the mythology.

Its plenty of hoe ass nikkas (not saying Mike or his son are/were) with daddies. Dude is projecting. Straight told on himself with the "you should be leading us" comment. nikka is actually a stan :mjlol:
