MJ:

* Gambling addict

* Potentially the reason behind his fathers death
Kobe:
* Physically bullied/assaulted multiple teammates, most notably Jeremy Lin and Smush Parker
* Snitched on Shaq to cover his own ass during the Colorado case
* Hated his parents guts and cut them off til the day he died so he could c00n with his Latina wife. Even sued them
* Literally raped a chick
LeBron:
* Had the audacity to want to go to a workplace that was favorable to him

There isn’t a single sports fan or fans of player who uses the intangible to justify their favourite players greatness, mask his obvious weakness and glaring personal deficiencies.
Lebron Fans, Kobe Fans, Messi Fans, Ronaldo Fans, Brady Fans, Nadal Fans, Federer Fans, Djokovic Fans so on speak directly about their favourite player achievement strictly based on their achievements on the court/pitch and their statistics, while Kobe fans bring up this nonsensical Mamba Mentality, Kobe never backs down, Kobe always take the toughest shot, Kobe always take the final shot, Kobe is a alpha, Kobe rocked baldness better than Lebron
and so on 
It seems like real life has punked Kobe fans and they use Kobe to heal their trauma, and these fans actually use Kobe as their perceived father, or sometimes literally imagine themselves as Kobe as well.
