NPR did a story about them a few weeks ago. Surprisingly, their highest recruitment within the last decade has been in Africa. they have been losing followers in America, Europe, and Asia. Their whole empire must now rely on Africa, followed by South asia.


They discovered that they just need to target people below a certain per capita GDP with no other options to fix their lives.


It's actually a little bit amusing to think that the billion dollar Mormon holdings in corporations like Pepsi or Marriott have been funded by people living on less than $2 a day in Africa. It's a downright diabolical. On some level, they just do a kind deed once in these communities; and they get a loyal donator for life
