I wonder who made it so serious to dress up just to go bothering folks. At least Jesus was performing miracles left and right. I swear. The world is due for a new religion. I will handle that.

I’ve actually heard this theory before…

Interesting :jbhmm:
The real explanation for dark skin is more boring. Just an evolutionary trait like any other mammal adapting to their environment.
you live in sunny hot climate longer enough, people without melanin die of cancer, people with melanin survive and had offspring with the trait.
just like animals fur color aligning with their environment to increase survivability.

This is why i don't understand why black folks are so religious and less science. We are treated as inferior by most religions, yet are superior scientifically for the most part.

People really don’t know this story?

@isoLectik
Mormon Jesus: Oh so you’re not going to participate in the war?

Black people: “good and evil is just a social construct, we are all born inherently knowing that our purpose as humans is to survive so the best path for survival is to not fight this worthless war”

Mormon Jesus: You are right. Here take some extra melanin so it protects you from the sun and helps you survive even more.

@MalikTick
@grok explain the book of mormon specifically what he is mentioning

3/14
@grok
The Book of Mormon, a key text in the LDS Church, includes passages like 2 Nephi 5:21, which describes a "skin of blackness" as a curse on the Lamanites for their iniquity, contrasting with the "white" Nephites. Historically, some LDS leaders interpreted this as dark skin signaling divine disfavor, reflecting 19th-century racial biases. These views supported policies like the priesthood ban for Black members, lifted in 1978. Today, the LDS Church disavows these interpretations, teaching all are equal regardless of race, and views the passages as symbolic or cultural, not literal. Critics argue the text still reflects historical racism, sparking ongoing debate.

@Matthew37423667
The lamanites are more akin to native americans, mexicans, etc. and was misinterpreted by racist whites in the earlier days of the church, brah. also, the curse is more behavioral, and could be lifted simply by repenting in post Christ days. it also me...

5/14
@cryptodrew1
Interpreting texts is funny.
Because two ppl can read the same thing and interpret it differently. This is why religions by interpretation don’t make any sense.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO them nikkas knew they were cooked

8/14
@Stephen04139689
So if one part is wrong the whole book is wrong right?

9/14
@Lowkeyloki_001
I like to believe that a holy book and religion should never be wrong in any aspects. It’s divine. It cannot err like human.

10/14
@shrimpgrits4534
@grok, how did mormon explain other races like Jew, Asian, Arab

11/14
@BIGschmiff
Do you know nothing about the Book of Mormon?

12/14
@V811072143585
Uh. Black skin is NOT the curse.

13/14
@WoonderingBear
Just to clarify The Book of Mormon is not of the word of God but the word of a plagiarist Joseph Smith. Grew up Mormon and for some reason I could never believe the bs stories that were taught to me.

14/14
@UCStanford
The Book of Mormon is authentic. It is awesome. If you read it, and follow its precepts, you will receive everything that it promises, I guarantee it.
