If you waiting on the Duchess of York to break you off something, you might be waiting a while. I'm sure the British brehs can jump in here, but she stay 'broke'. That's also how she got involved with Epstein, being broke.
In 2011, the Telegraph reported that Ferguson had accepted £15,000 from Epstein to cover her debts, and that Prince Andrew arranged the payment. The outing forced Ferguson’s hand, and
she submitted a public apology for taking the money, with an incredible use of the passive voice: “I personally, on behalf of myself, deeply regret that Jeffrey Epstein became involved in any way with me,” she
said at the time. “I abhor peadophilia and any sexual abuse of children and know that this was a gigantic error of judgment on my behalf. I am just so contrite I cannot say. Whenever I can I will repay the money and will have nothing ever to do with Jeffrey Epstein ever again.… What he did was wrong and for which he was rightly jailed.”
Now, the
Mail is reporting that
Epstein was planning to strong-arm Ferguson into retracting her statement through an unnamed law firm, whose services he retained in 2011. He also tapped crisis management PR firm Sitrick & Co, which confirmed to the
Mail that it offered “consulting advice and public relations services concerning Epstein’s relationship with Prince Andrew.” They drafted a statement of retraction for her, but
she, according to this source, “stuck to her guns” and “refused to comply.”
The millionaire helped the Duchess of York pay off her debts in 2011, and in a statement apologizing for associating with him, Ferguson used language Epstein reportedly wanted her to take back.
