You can scoff or hit the back button but I'm genuinely curious about this.
There's always a conversation about the politics of the female body.
How much is a woman's own choice or is she just programmed by the norms of a patriarchial society?

One of the things everyone has an opinion about is female body hair.
Legs, underarms, even face. But the strongest opinions are about female pubic hair.
I'm old enough to remember that early in life bush was the norm but somewhere along the way, bush became taboo.
Now, it's not anymore. Women are demanding the right to rock any amount of pubes they want.

So.
At what point did you decide to "manicure" your natural situation?
Why?
Did anyone influence your decision?
Did you ever change your mind?

as a young teen, i just did it because that's what we were "supposed" to do with no rhyme or reason
but since i grew tf up and learned actual health and hygiene and the fact that most men are going to dive in it tongue first either way, it's not a big deal for me to be merely trimmed up, so my go to is at least a nice shape that fits within underwear. then i don't f a lot so it really is no reason for me to go brazilian all the time. but if i do have a date with smash potential i will get wax just because they might want it that way. but like i said earlier.... usually one hairy monkey don't stop no show

Especially within the space of a relationship.
One of the unexpected result of the female body hair revolution is the male support women have received on this issue.
You still have male pube Nazis but most of that is cap. It's mostly dudes who don't interact with women IRL.

i have no idea, it was a long time ago. i don't think it came from anybody specific because i was not the type to share personal habits like that with other people. i think i just thought i was supposed to not have hair on my body because i for sure tried to shave everywhere.... even where i don't even have noticeable hair ... like on my arms and face lol

But for me, body hair removal is moreso tied to a tactile thing than it is social conditioning.

I get waxed and use six bladed razors because I like feeling like a dolphin. Also it makes exfoliation easier. I also have a smidge of ocd so I’m a bit neurotic about it.
I hate body hair.

Now when it gets to down there, once again it’s a tactile factor. Just feels breezier. Lol! Like @bourgeoisie tall freak mentioned…most men don’t even care. They are more concerned about scent.
And some of the stories ya’ll have told me have left me perturbed.

i was always about the trim life, just felt fresher with less hair trapping the bodily musk. wasn't til i got older that i tried the bald eagle and that was more so because it looked better in pics/videos lol. but i roll with everything from fully untamed, to trimmed, to oh and its shaved (waxed)

Some Mexican chicks don't GAF about the hair on their arms and I have hella questions.
I saw a young brehita at the drive thru recently with mad hairy arms.

I used to work with this crazy, but nice, Mexican chick.
I dunno if she liked me or what but she would always talk my ear off if she wasn't busy.
One time, I was listening to her yap and while she was talking she pulled out a pair of scissors and snipped a chunk out her abundant arm hair.
She put the scissors down, still yapping, and I watched that tuft of hair slowly float to the floor like a feather in a commercial.
I never saw her pick that hair up off the floor.

As soon as I started getting hair there I started shaving. I don’t think anything influenced me to do so…it was moreso “it wasn’t there before…it don’t want it here now.”

And I still keep it bald til this day.
