Brehs and brehettes - I really gotta start cooking at home.

So, a nikka got some Pho on Saturday night. Ended up with food poisoning. I'm reading the reviews of the place on Facebook and muh fukkas are legit posting pics of their pho soup with roaches in it. I know, I know - I should have peeped the reviews before I went but I didn't think to. So I was like, I'll just take my L there. I ate from a dirty ass unsanitary place and it is what it is.

So now, y'all know all types of shyt is on my radar now and I'm like real aware now.

Tonight, it's 8:30. I don't feel like driving and a nikka is hungry. So I was like, let me walk across the street to mcdonalds and get some shyt. So I get there, order my shyt, pay and I'm waiting. As I'm standing there, I'm watching the dude at the register blow his nose and not put one ounce of hand sanitizer on his hands afterwards BUT went straight to fixing somebody else's frosty. Not only that but he did one of these with the tissue afterward

...right into the kitchen. I didn't see where it went. Hopefully it made it into a trash but I can't be too sure.

So now I'm sitting here with this double cheeseburger and large fry and just contemplating my life.

The struggle is real.

Cook in bulk, store it in the freezer. Steam, bake or pan fry things if you get em fresh. it's cheaper too.
Cooking doesn't have to be a chore breh.
Put on some music, grab a glass of whisky/wine, puff on a blunt, shyt can be great.

I might need to have a drink while cooking... Sounds like it could be fun. Because cooking is a fukking chore to me. I enjoy cooking but lately it hasn't been fun

Look up some new recipes. Try some new seasoning. Buy some different cuts of meat or animal entirely. fukk it, get some ostrich steak. Some mantis shrimps. Try a new method of cooking. Invite a couple of friends over for a chill time.
if you enjoy cooking, the food will taste that much better. nothing better than putting some care, love and attention into your food and have it tasting like some gourmet shyt, on some #fukkgordonramsay shyt

I know you don't want to hear this but everything we eat will be contaminated at some point.

Grocery stores often have mice, rat and insect problems.

Lots of meats come from sick animals...if we lived in the wild we would eat everything anyway. Not saying you should eat everything (especially that pho place. Report them please breh) but there's literally no way to escape this stuff. That's sucks if you're a little OCD like me.

pull up on the butchers and ask em for some new shyt. try some peasant, some rabbit, shark, kangaroo, gator, etc.

I like to make soups and stews in bulk and throw that shyt in the freezer. my sistreh from st kitts taught me how to make saltfish stew, that shyt keeps forever and is bloody delicious. slow cooked jamaican stew beef and chicken will also last ages. soups are also easy cuz the nutrients you'd normally get are already all up in the soup and you just gotta slice up some crispy azz bread and dip it in there.

when I was studying in europe one of my roommates taught me bouillabaisse. it's basically a dope seafood stew (kinda expensive though) it's a little similar to what you guys in America have in the south... gumbo, I think it's called?

In any case, thick stews will never let you down.
I personally also cook extra food whenever I have a barbeque so there's leftovers. Eating bbq meat the next day is just :phewmayne::goddamnisaygoddamnmayne::bishopeddiemayne::nawww:. when the smoke is all in your face you can't truly appreciate the flavours the coals and woods imparts into the meat :dayumxdayummayne:

you could also go the bodybuilder/fighter route and do full on meal prep. grill/pan fry/bake fresh, high quality meats with some nutritious veg like asparagus or broccoli, then add some low calorie carbs like brown rice or sweet potatoes. make a load of each and then separate them into tupperware containers. label for extra efficiency. I find that doing this shyt on a sunday is best. cook enough for a week, then clean the house, then grill up a steak or something else that's nice and puff on a blunt while enjoying a dope show.

The problem is that I don't cook, so I wouldn't even know where to start or what simple shyt I can look into. For real for real, I might can scramble some eggs and fry some sausage...but that's the extent of my culinary skills. So when it gets to like lunch and dinner, I wouldn't even know what to fukkin do

I'm hella OCD but I failed big time with that pho place. I actually went to the place and ordered so I don't know how I managed to overlook the dirtiness. I was sober and in a coherent state of mind, so I'm still kinda confused how I didn't notice that shyt. And I usually notice it. Whenever I go to some place for the first time, I'm usually looking around. I try to notice the health inspection certificates hanging on the wall, looking around at the other people there, and all of that.

But after that experience, it's like my OCD is on 1000 now. When I saw lil dude legit blow his nose and went right to handling ice cream, I was like oh hell naw. Even tho he wasn't the one that prepared my food, I couldn't do it. I think I ate like three fries before I couldn't do anymore. Smh. Now Ima be like inspector gadget with all my food now, examining all types of shyt. I might need some professional help before it gets out of control, breh.
