I have been letting my hair lock since I've been working from home since March. Honestly, prior to the quarantine, we were already WFH about 3 or 4 days per week. And they are planning to have us WFH even more after the quarantine so I don't think it's that big of a deal :manny:

I do not see customers or clients or anything like that. We also have a laid back dress code too. Jeans everyday etc.

I don't want to cut them ... and shouldn't have to :mjcry:

I am in the Philadelphia area if that helps

yeah, cause you're black.

edit: look at tit like this. and this is a convo I've had with a white dude.

you could be tatted up like an MS-13 lifer with nose, ear, lip and eyebrow piercings and be a doctor.

if you're white.

If you're black with a tat of your mom's name on your hand, it's "unprofessional".

Probably but they won't say anything in this climate. 1 news story about forcing a black person to cut their hair or being fired bc of hairstyle could shut the entire operation down. They don't want those problems.

they don't, but that doesn't mean they won't give him problems.

Of course...they want Carlton Banks/Boyz II Men brehs in these jobs....while cacs routinely dress like homeless people and have nazi tattoos won't ever get called out....

As long as you do your job and are professional, hairstyle should be irrelevant....

I've seen other people in my department who have them and they are longer than mine.

We work in the back office but I am now a manager so I just don't want to come off on professional but it's just are to me and I love how they look on anybody especially black woman

My next hairstyle was going to be the buzz cut with the big beard so if we ever go back to work in a lot more in the office I don't mind cutting them if I really have to in a hinders my career I just don't think it would but maybe I am being naive

If there's no policy against it now there's nothing they can do.

Make a new rule is grounds for a lawsuit. Harassment is grounds for a lawsuit. Demotion same thing. Not much they could do. Plus that court of public opinion is a bytch too

I have long well kept hair pulled back and it’s prevented me from landing a few jobs, I’ve even been directly asked about it in interviews. Doesn’t matter though as I landed a great job now making excellent money.
