I've never heard of seasoning flour in my life and I learned how to fry chicken from a Black Woman born in 1940s Louisiana :hhh:

Not particularly lol. I just make sure I use garlic powder, onion powder and nutritional yeast in flour in addition to salt and pepper. You can’t beat the taste it gives the chicken.

When I make regular chicken wings to turn into hot wings, I don’t season them beforehand at all. I fry them until they are golden and then toss them in some Lawrys’ seasoning salt and homemade vegan Parmesan cheese. To make this cheese, you need this:

Half cup of raw almonds
Half cup of nutritional yeast
1 Tbsp garlic powder
2-3 Tbsp onion powder
1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
3/4 tsp salt

Run it all through a food processor or high powered blender until it becomes powder. Then just store it in an old seasoning jar with the shaker top so you can sprinkle this on your food. You can add this stuff to anything savory...it’s so damn good and a good seasoning for those trying to transition to a more plant based lifestyle. I put it on the chicken, salads, shrimp, broccoli, mushrooms...like any meat or veggies. Looks like this when done:

Regarding the dredging method I mentioned before, though, you might like this:

Made this before with chicken legs and it came out really well...never had chicken that crispy before that was homemade. Next time I’m going to try it on flats and drummettes.
