I just don't want to see this when I hit the beach

That place looks overly touristy and avoidable. And look in the background. It's Zanzibar but those dudes wearing maasai clothes. Not that there aren't any maasai in TZ. But in those environments when you try negotiate their starting price for white people thrice the price of black people or locals. They're just selling them the dream of an Authentic experience.. But if you want to Buy something let a local ask for you. Someone you know and trust. I'd also if I was you look to rent a regular house for the duration of my stay. Much cheaper. Don't do the ones meant for expats. Just do local market ads. Max youll pay will be 500 dollars for a whole month of accommodation.

Really if you plan not to do hotel living any coli member can make it out here. Life is cheap and you'll spend less being out here than being in the states. So you don't really need a big plan or money

Biggest advice I can give is get a house in short term lease as your base so you avoid hotel costs. Get some local friends who aren't trying to come up based on your being there and will negotiate costs or know the scene better. Get a crew or travelling companions.. And it could be locals or your boys.. So you not on your own. But mostly it's safe.

Then from your house base arrange the visits you want to make to the coastline or the areas where there's safaris

The Comfort Zone
@Dad

The previous times I've gone to Africa it's been with my family...I've never visited by myself :patrice:

I would recommend staying away from the countries going through turmoil presently. Niger, Cameroon, etc

Besides a passport you should get a visa for whatever country you're visiting, get your shots if you feel they're necessary, and do some research into the country you'll be visiting. Don't go out sad visiting an African country where most of the populace doesn't know Engiish :ld:

Cape Verde looks beautiful and is a stable country. I would most def visit if I had the cash

Zanzibar in Tanzania is on my bucket list. If I ever get my money up I'll dip out of America and retire there :wow:

Zanzibar is top notch :wow:

Loved Kenya.

A chick rubbed (damn near caressed) my head in the club (I had a caesar at the time). I was like :dahell:
