Top 5 for me would be strictly old school roots reggae artists. Dennis Brown, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Gregory Isaacs and of course Bob. Then you gotta think about all the dope groups like The Congos, The Abyssinians, etc. Buju, Sizzla, Capleton and Garnet Silk are my favorites from the 90s era. And my modern favorites are Chronixx, Protoje, Kabaka Pyramid, Jesse Royal, Jah9.

I agree..
The 90s and early 2000s were on fire in Dancehall :damn:

Yes definitely. I’m not the most educated Jamaican music connoisseur there is but when I get in the mood which is often my go to’s are Sizzla, Capleton, Jah Cure, Vybz and Aidonia. Those are just my favorite contemporary dancehall/raggae artists

Sizzla Capleton collabs are some of the dopest music I ever heard

Capleton a mi artiste..I'm a huge fan..some of the hardest music known to man:wow:

Can we make this a Kalonji appreciation thread and post our favourites from him..Sizzla is very prolific , so some of his finest and hardest tracks are unknown to most.

I got a lot of Sizzla faves, but this is Number 1 for me

"Hey you Black woman, just know yourself inna di puzzle":wow:

huge sizzla fanatic

but no he is not above Buju but he is definitely up there

the one thing that is disappointing is he flips from ultra consciousness ( black woman and child) to ultra slack ( pump up the pum pum) to gangsta (get to the point)
also being a sizzlafan is a real full time job
dude will drop 4 albums without any notice one day and follow up next week with 5 more albums
its really weird
i was following all his songs but it was too much
bear in mind you cant find most of his stuff online
jamaican music doesnt work that way
a riddim is pub and people jump on it
and sometimes have dub plate
sizza would drop multiple songs on the same album
and all different styles singing, djing, rapping
