How the fukk y’all going about getting ya kicks in the current sneaker market? I haven’t seen no shyt like this and I been collecting sneakers since the late 90s as a yute.

I noticed it happened right around the pandemic last April/May with everyone at home it seemed like a lot of people (mostly cacs) started getting into re selling and completely fukking the market up. Now in my city I’m seeing cacs and Indian kids rocking Jordan 1 Highs and Dunks. I been seeing this ALL summer. Is this some Tik Tok shyt? When the fukk did all these white kids start wearing J’s and Dunks? And I know that’s what’s driving the price up. Who the fukk is actually paying 2-3K for Jordan’s that retailed for 250? Any of y’all?

StockX played a hand in this shyt too. They feast off all the fees and are essentially setting the price for the market because you can’t even do local resale cops because everyone uses stockx as the reference. I remember nikkas used to mark shyt up 50-60 bucks, a nikka might try to get you for a 100 plus max but not no damn 400-500 dollars extra on 150 dollar sneakers

Nike/Adidas not doing shyt cause they getting their billions. A good bot is like 2-5K and who the fukk wants to get a bit to buy some damn sneakers. I’ve managed to still get a few joints that weren’t super hyped (Electric Green 6s, Shadow 2.0, Jubilees, Freshwater Griffey’s) but it’s so much shyt I’ve missed out on the past year. Not one pair of Dunks. Bout to miss out on the Pollens cause they getting back doored and nikkas are charging 200+ retail on Oreo 4s.

Are y’all just paying resale on StockX? eBay has been decent too. I got some Court Purple 1s off there and I paid retail + 80 which was decent and they got their own authentication guarantee. One of my homies gave up and now goes on that sneaker reps sub Reddit and he been buying some fire ass reps. This nikka orders 6-7 pairs at a time, all heat and from my inspection of the joints he got, they’re damn near identical. I stacked up a few pairs of my retails against his and honestly couldn’t tell the difference. I got nothing against reps cause the shyt coming from the same factory but just as a sneaker head shyt it don’t feel right

This is actually annoying me. I have been wearing 1 religiously since 09, Dunks since 03 and was and avid lover of the mid 2000's Sb Era.

I saw a friend of mines Insta story were he was raving about jordan 1 and the Parra SB Dunks.

And I'm like nikka back in 09 you were wearing Adidas Neo's and Skecthers

As for now I got the SNKRS app and I shot my shot if and Jordan 1 Highs catch my attention.

I'm a 90's kid so I still go by that code of finding a good deal sale wise online. The days of finding treasures in TJ Maxx are long gone.

The culture is now truly heavily Hypebeast populated and it is a shame.......................

Only way it's feasible, is if you're REALLY eatin off this shyt. Not trying to flex, wit new drops. It's not even that deep. There's 100s of styles out in 2021. Step your taste or your swag up. That wasn't the case back in the day. There wasn't this much gear out, AT THE SAME TIME. AND even still when I was religiously spending on sneakers, I was still keepin some off-brand shyt (Shells, Pumas, etc.). There's new drops every week now. Nggas are on to the next, the following week. fukk buyin $200+ for kicks every week, when those shyts are made for $5. Nggas are SIMPS. Keep lettin these sneaker sites rape you.

Same for the goofys standing outside all the high-end fashion stores, trying to keep up (for that one look you get off IG), only to go home to the trenches, or some shack somewhere, wit a closet full of gear. Nggas are lost, delusional, and followers, and cacs are capitalizing off it, at unprecedented levels.
