I agree with the folks defending the Cinematographer & Director. If you couldn't see what was happening onscreen, that says everything about how
the black levels are on your TV is. If messing with your picture settings didn't fix issue, you need buy a TV with better black levels.

Yes, considering how it was buikt to be an emotional battle the lighting fog and quick cuts took away from absorbing the emotion during the battle
I use the HBO Go app. I have a Epson 1080 HD projector, and a 4K tv. I couldn’t see shyt. I really don’t think you should have to adjust your tv settings or be squinting at the TV like Jameis Winston trying to figure out what’s going on. I get what they were going for. It’s just a dumbass idea.

My issue was the banding as described in the article. It seems to be a limit with the colors during streaming. I watched a 1080p stream on a 4k/HDR television
I haven't seen this bunch banding since the early days of DVDs in the early 2000s
Any time u gotta over calibrate and bend over backwards for just one single episode of a TV show when everything else u watch looks perfectly fine then it means the problem lies on the creators end

I had no issue and felt it was deliberate because the direction was to give an idea of what’s it like to be fighting in the pitch black darkness.

The dragons fighting was the worst part for me. Couldn't figure out what was going on except from the occasional blue flame from Vyserion would let me know which dragon was which.

there is no source, all i know is i watched it again yesterday and it was brighter (to me) than sunday, 3 other posters then quoted me saying they agreed when they rewatched on hbo go (now)
