I agree with much of the sentiments. I personally avoided any negativity. So such things I stayed far from.
What say you though of say your pastor belonging to the same orgs or fraternal blah blah as your favorite businessman. law enforcement, teacher etc etc

When I was a child, I had to take them seriously because they were all around me from family to friends. As an adult, I do not think about them beyond the periodic news story on some gang violence.

I only take their money seriously. I try to steer the few with aspirations, especially in STEM or trades, outta that bullshyt.
I believe it, one of my closest dudes moved out to Vegas and did work in long Beach for like 4/5 years and he told me it's very different out there compared to nyc. They schooled the fukk outta him. He was like mfz out there gave him history on the sets and it's really about neighborhoods. If you not sanctioned they looking at you sideways and might bang on site.

Had to worry about some of them when I was a kid/teen but even then if you weren’t in the life or pretending to be and you carried yourself like you had some common sense like minding your business than you were good 9 out of 10 times. Newark and the surrounding areas have a lot of gangs at least back then. Now that I’m older it’s just something I hear about on the news or in music. Don’t associate myself with it.
Full agreement. From a historical perspective, such negative groups sometimes move into business, politics, law, unions etc.
