True, you will see upgrades to phones around March/April and then again in Oct. But a lot of these companies follow same upgrade process apple does (and no I don't have an I phone).
Release new phone with grade A specs
Following year? Minor upgrade (usually added metal or enhanced camera).
Unless you plan on upgrading every year or couple of months, the phone mentioned should hold you over.
