Alright. I read the thread. I thought it was a good discussion through the first 3 pages. It went completely off the rails on page 4
At that point it was completely unproductive on both sides. I did think that you made an excellent argument that I understand to be:
- K-Rino is a better MC.
- Kanye is able to infuse his message/music with pop sensibilities that lead to higher replay value and a larger audience, while still taking chances artistically.
- K-Rino is too one-dimensional. His music, while touching on a variety of subjects, ultimately sounds the same.
@The Ruler 09 disagreed on the second two points...highlighting that because you haven't heard all of his music you aren't in a position to speak on whether it all sounds the same. You argued you had heard enough (I disagree with @The Ruler 09 that you need to hear everything in order to offer an opinion on K-Rino's music...but he has a point that you don't have the knowledge base to assert that ALL of his music sounds the same).
The second point is ultimately subjective to me. It's all opinion - no way to objectively qualify something like that. It's not a fact like, say, The Infamous by Mobb Deep is the GOAT album.
Then a flood of posters (most of whom I think are good posters) who have previous beefs with @The Ruler 09 started jumping in and trolling him. It's the Coli - that what we do

That is the point, if you have different sounding albums how can you judge off 1 album? Would it not be unfair to judge Mobb Deep solely on Juvenile Hell and ignore The Infamous? Though I like Juvenile Hell by the way. It's the same with Kanye, if I hear just 808's how can I judge all his music just off that? Futhemore these people haven't even heard full albums but are hearing maybe a few random songs. In many cases less than 5, if I pick 5 random Kanye songs can I judge and condemn his whole cateologue base off that? Without full information? Not if it's fair no, and likewise.

I dont really feel like getting into it again but yeah you are pretty much right. I was frustrated for being told "if it doesn't move you, then I question your knowledge of the work". So If I dont get moved by two of K-rinos tracks. I need to listen to all his other emotional tracks got get it? I dont see the logic in it. I had already made my points about kanye also being able to make tracks that hit home with people, and Ruler cant be the judge on how people relate to Kanye and his ability to move people compared to K-rino. Just because you use more words or "goes deeper" doesn't mean the track will resonate deeper with people. I gave examples of that, elaborated on it. But when confronted with these kind of statements he either question your intelligence, open mind or knowledge. If its not that he ignores them, focus on single lines in my text and take them out of context and bring nothing to the table by writing about it. For example. When talking about Kanye being able to reach so many people, he says stuff like ""I'd rather have 10 thousand true followers behind me , than 1 million of your fake fanatics behind me" - the great KRS-One. If you have to get fukked in your ass for people for more people to hear your music do you do it? Or sell out your manhood? Not me, not for 100 billion. I can't do that and won't do that. You have to have principles and integrity in life."
WTH does that have to do with what I just wrote, and who is he do judge is Kanyes fans are fake fanatics? Then he start talking about selling out which also dont bring anything to the discussion since its irrelevant to either you are a better artist or not. I admit I had used an aggressive style of writing up until then but that's because its frustrating having to repeat stuff over and over again because he keep ignoring valid points or nitpicking stuff and bringing it out of context.
But now he's on some other shyt. How should I even respond to these kind of shyt statements he makes up? So thats when I start making fun of K-rinos live preformance. Nothing insulting in fact. Just by using pure irony. But I still make valid points since the ability to rock a crowd is part of being an MC. He tries to save face by posting a video of Kanye letting Tyler preform which is an stupid example of an live performance of Kanye. I then try to withdraw from the discussion by saying
"But like people have been saying in this thread earlier. Its stupid debating these two artist. They are to far apart musically.
So I will make another thread just where we take Eyedea vs K-rino instead. They are closer and there I will listen you the songs you post and compare them to the things I post. Okay?"
Since I love music and love debating it. I was the only one left trying to have a discussion with him. And I was even willing to keep debating with him, but this time on a topic that I knew he wouldn't be able to escape the discussion by calling Kanye a sell out or his fans stupid.
Instead he responds childishly "Lmao, so you talked a lot of shyt but when it came down to substance pussied out. Game, set and match lol.".
I call him a teenage boy and compare him to someone who read Kafka for the first time. But I still invite him to join the other debate.
