Internet boards existed way before the coining of the term social media.

So nah, nikkas might try to treat this like social media at times, but the fundamental element of social media is that it's an extension of real world socialization. I don't get on the Coli to share any element of my real life with people, neither do majority of the posters on here.

People on social media their profiles are extensions of real world personas and communities (that's why they have black twitter, Chicago Twitter, Houston twitter) the Coli is a bunch of faceless commenters that don't know anything about eachother in real life

Even more another defining feature of social media is the creation of media/content whether that be microblogging(twitter), pictures(twitter/instagram/snapchat) and video (twitter/instagram/snapchat)
