Ive been into pc gaming since Duke Nukem, got in heavy when Quake 3 arena dropped. since ps2 came out id buy like 2 pc games a year. fast forward to now...

heres the things I don't get...

1. ive got two pc gaming machines, yesterday I decided to blow dust of my GTX 660 which is like my back up gaming machine. I installed assasins creed unity thinking it wouldn't even run as many with better setups have told me its ass. but my copy runs fine on high settings with detailed textures. how when better pc's complain of slow down

2. why is it 1080p is a leap above 720p on pc but when I play on consoles I cant tell the diff between 1080p or 720p, I cant even tell diff between 1080p n 720p with movies

3. Am I the only person that cant tell the difference between 60fps and 30fps?

4. does ram make much an impact? if I double 8GB DDR3 RAM will it be noticeable?
1. shyt is not well optimized on that game. It's an ubishyt title and they always have problems on the pc

2. you can tell the difference between 1080p and 720p by looking at the colors and moving in closer to your monitor. Colors are brighter and more vibrant on 1080p. If you're just gaming on a tv monitor that is far away from you it's hard to see the pixel difference, but if you're sitting in front of a monitor on your desk you can definitely see the difference

3. Yeah, you're one of the only few that can't tell a difference. It's like literally night and day.

4. 8gb ram is good enough right now for gaming. doubling it won't be noticeable for gaming. It will for other apps that require a lot of ram, but games don't currently

1. so is the optimization the reason it runs fine for me, but sloppy on faster pc's?

and thanks for answering the questions, especially about RAM

Yeah, higher end rigs have been having problems with a lot of games recently. I dunno why, but we keep seeing it. Games aren't being optimized properly for sli and higher end gpus for some reason. I dunno why.

SSD helps with load times and some say it helps with open world games that stream in a lot of textures, etc.

I'd recommend an SSD. They're so much faster than hard drives.

1-3. you're just not sensitive to that shyt. :manny: if you have a 1080p 60hz display, shyt's gonna look best at 1080p 60fps

4. 8gb is good for gaming right now. chrome tabs on the other hand :merchant:
