ALDI's is a product of Germans with highly efficient brainpower.... In one of my accounting classes in college we talked about how they found ways to make large profits by cutting corners on things like charging for bags(Which many other grocery stores in Nor Cal have started to do), and stocking product of smaller, lesser known food brands mostly from one company. They will then have limited items from other companies, which increases their sales of their main product provider. They also only stock "staple" items. It is almost like ALDIs is a grocery store from the 1940s or something...
Its target market are young people, college students, 20-35 year olds, and also people who use food stamps because they get more bang for their buck...
A truly intelligent creation because in reality, other than produce and meats, nothing else really needs to be purchased from specialty grocers like Wholefoods and trader joes..
Also, In the US Aldi stores are usually understaffed so they pay more/hr then other stores....
Despite the fact that people think the stores are "low quality", they consistently see profits and are growing exponentially. I see them becoming one of the largest chains in the US very soon...
