Trolling? No. Seriously. Get better grades and get on with it. Early 20s is something you only get to do once. Why ask for advice just to ignore people?

so what youre telling me is that a 3.5/4 as a bio major / computer science minor is a bad job?
grades literally have NOTHING to do with it. my grades are fine.

Breh I'm Nigerian and let me tell you what to do.
It might sting, but you got to cut your family off. Maybe not your mom so much since she is ill, but be selfish and graduate. Trying to switch majors as a senior is by far the dumbest thing that anybody can do. Stop looking for your "passion" and your "love" and stick to what you've known and can make money off of. Your aunts in Britain are probably messy af knowing Nigerian women, so they will only make this whole thing worse.
My parents were trying to force me to be an MD, but early on I switched and went into tech and am successful. And of course now they rejoice whenever I come around. Unfortunately it's too late for you. Switching to agriculture will bring them shame because you know Nigerians will start calling you a farmer.
Graduate, only come home when you have to, and be a successful doctor and eat.

switching degrees isnt even an option!! i wanted to at first but i can virtually do the same thing in horticulture with a bio degree. i can do virtually ANYTHING with a biology degree. i no longer see a need to switch
and i dont give one virtual fukk what my family thinks about my education anymore.theyre not paying for it.
im still doing plant bio, i can work w companies (dupont, dow chemical etc) ,with the govt (usda are having shortages) or open my own business growing medicinal crops, using hydroponics technology.
im not in it for the money. thats how my mother got herself in the predicament shes in now.

like i am sorely convinced some of yall cant read. I didnt say i wanted to switch majors anymore - i can still pursue the same career path with a bio degree!

@eternalpangs I read your whole story and I feel for you. If I were you, I would stay far away from your family. It's not as rare as you might think but in the long run, you are in a bad situation with a clear way out. Go for it.

Nigerian here and I'm also in my early 20s. Parents more relaxed when it comes to school and me choosing what I want to do. Got an associates in business but switched to an area within computers.
Wasn't even planning on going to college because of the debt and not knowing what I wanted to do. Almost done with school and after my Bachelors I'm not going back and I don't give a fukk what anyone says.
A masters or PHD? LOL yeah right! Why would I want to be in school from the age of 5 to 26?! 21 years of motherfukking schooling... and hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt.
fukk that. And in the long run I'm looking into entrepreneurial avenues, not working for someone else for the rest of my life.
How are you supporting yourself? Through school? I'm assuming you live in an apartment since you don't have to go home for christmas or thanksgiving break. You are a grown adult, you are on a scholarship for school, and your stepfather stole about 5 grand from you.
You aren't dependent upon them. Do what you want to do. If you continue to do things that will make others happy and not yourself, you will live a miserable life.
Don't waste your time arguing with them. It's not going to get anywhere or make them change their mind. Where is your biological father?
