 reminds me of fallout 3 & those pods that would take you to this perfect neighborhood but it was all a virtual simulation

no.....I'm talking about uploading your consciousness onto the net.....leaving behind this bag of bones and blood behind permanently

becoming a new species :demonic:

I doubt it will be much different. Better graphics is a given. I see things being more user friendly and connected. we will have more options when apple and Google will join the fray and compete. I see gaming systems more integrated with everything else, like TVs, smartphones, tablets, etc. more connected mobile gaming like the ps3 and vita. I also see more data and storage capabilities. maybe even 1 tb storage. my ps3 has 500gb so that's not unreasonable. I also think it would be more digital and less discs. with the ability to trade games among friends and systems. one thing I do want to see created soon, unless it's already out there, is a video game rental system that's digital. sort of like game fly. but in the system. like sure you can use game fly and wait for the disc and have to send it back, but what if you can download it to your system then have to upload it back to their servers in order to get the next game. digital is cheaper and cost less for the companies in manufacturing cost. I see that being the norm in a few years. and of course courtdog will still be trying to convince us that the 20th anniversary edition of PS+ isn't up to par with even today's Xbox standards.

either you're a moron or someone who enjoys being miserable

how can you say not much will change considering how much technology has changed in the last 20 years?

we went from this (Doom 1993)

to this (The Division 2013) in 20 years

Its a given that in 2033, we'll have photorealistic graphics. We'll actually get there much sooner.

But what will be special in the 2030s, is the nanotech revolution will be underway. Things like 3D printing will become the Star Trek Replicator. And things like the Oculus Rift will become The Matrix.

Be happy brehs. We are on the cusp of one of the most amazing rides ever. Jacking into the Matrix is in our future.

sounds like some skynet shyt y'all talking bout with robots and machines taking over and destroying the planet eventually. as interesting as that alternate reality sounds, I find it unlikely. is it going to create longer life? no disease? what if you get some spam and it hits you with a virus? you screwed. I see the life expectancy rising but not cause of us living inside a computer. besides how does the population grow? do we just program a new baby and "abort" if a glitch occurs?

I'll admit lots has changed the past 20 years including graphics. that game you posted looks nice. but how much can actually improve on graphics considering where we are currently at. that pic looks like it's from a movie even. the view is that real. are they gonna start filming games with cameras the movie studios use? sure nanotechnology will be available but I think more in a way of more data and less storage. they been fitting more space into smaller devices each year. but there's only so much that can be done. I think the photo graphics will actually happen before end of decade if not sooner so I see where you coming from.

we will create artificial intelligences that will be consciousness....they might decide to kill us off or they might not......either way we should try because once we create the first smarter than human intelligence, it'll be the last invention man ever makes........the computers will be able to improve themselves much faster than we could ever do

that means progress will increase much faster than we can anticipate.....a super intelligent AI might solve a problem we think might take years in a few seconds........this is what most people in the AI field call the SINGULARITY.........the moment a computer algorithm becomes smarter than the smartest human in EVERYTHING

if mind uploading is possible....and there is no reason to believe it isn't.....then it might be here alot sooner than people think

I give it till 2050.

listen

computing technology advances EXPONENTIALLY......that is why you find some of these projections I'm making hard to believe......in 20 years.......if current trends hold up......and they have held up for the past 60 years.......we'll have computers that are a MILLION times MORE POWERFUL than today......and this is without taking into account quantum computing which would make everything I've said so far laughable......a quantum computer the size of a sugar cube could potentially be more powerful than a classical computer the size of the observable universe......thats not me saying that.....thats some of the smartest scientists......and Google supposedly bought the first commercial quantum computer THIS YEAR!!!!

they will be faster, smarter, smaller, and store more data.......look back 20 years and think about all the different machines you would need to do what your smartphone does today

we've already experienced RADICAL change in our own lifetimes......all I'm saying is just project out

what will be the smartphone of 2030 which we can't even imagine?

all the things I mentioned are things we can imagine because they simply extrapolations from past trends......what I'm excited about is the stuff we can't imagine

was just reading up on singularity. seems interesting. and possible, but it will be difficult to accomplish considering humans are initially programming the machine but we shall see how they amaze us when the time comes

yeah I agree with you that it's going to be crazy how tech will change in the future. I'm looking thru some of the stuff now. the possibilities are endless. hopefully they benefit us more. better health care and research. better space exploration possibilities. better safety.

PC master race will achieve this in 15 years :umad:

you PC gaming nerds just don't get it

no one develops for all the excess power PCs got over consoles.....you people are like someone who gets a Bugatti that can go 250 mph

you ain't never gonna drive the car that fast and you ain't never gonna get all that extra graphical horsepower being used if no one is developing

at least a Bugatti is gonna attract mad p*ssy.....having a gaming PC will only drive away p*ssy from you

I been reading about screen less technology and holographic. gaming isn't just gonna be about what it can do, but also about how we view it. might Google's new gaming system and goggle glass be compatible for gaming anywhere? I can see that happening

I wonder what happens to the education system when these events start poppin...

School will be pointless if you can upload your fukking brain into super computers.:ANYWORD:

:rudy: nikka, ever heard of diminishing returns?

They thought we'd have hover cars standard issue by now :comeon:

Tech advancements are only going to slow from here

We ain't jumping to the damn matrix in 20 years my nikka.
