Bud selig basically staged a coup to make himself commissioner after his predecessor ruled in favor of the players during a labor dispute. He oversaw and was a fully complicit partner in the calculated and willful destruction of baseball in Oakland across a near 20 year span he oversaw which continued past his tenure and began purely out of spite because he wanted to buy the A’s to move them to Milwaukee before he owned the brewers. He also oversaw and was a willing partner in the destruction of baseball in Montreal. Then he actively stepped in to help the same man who destroyed baseball in Montreal buy the marlins and would proceed to destroy baseball in Miami. He was witness to the destruction of baseball in Pittsburgh as well and chose to do nothing about it. He allowed a team to be established in Tampa that had no following whose stadium was a nightmare to get to in a region that was never a good fit for baseball. He allowed the Angelos family to run the Baltimore orioles into the ground purely to save money. He made home field advantage in the World Series be determined by a midseason exhibition game. He was a driving force behind a work stoppage that cost us a big chunk of the 1994 regular season and the entire 1994 playoffs as well as games on the 1995 schedule. He also played blind, deaf, and dumb about players juicing until it was time to boost his own hall of fame candidacy. fukk that guy and anyone who loves him. Not a single commissioner has done more harm to their sport than he has in the past 70 years and the only competition I can find is a man who kept this sport segregated.

If that guy is in the hall of fame then I don’t want to hear a goddamn word about morality or cheating the game because unless the guy in question is a nazi, a klansmen, a war criminal, a rapist, a pedophile, or a serial killer, then there’s a guy whose job was to oversee and protect the sport who was of far inferior moral character to them that is in the hall of fame now who got in recently and the player this thread is about was his final target en route to boosting his own candidacy for the hall of fame while his being in the hall essentially undermines the entire credibility of said institution. Again, fukk bud selig and anyone who loves him. The day he drops dead I’ll crack open a bottle of the best liquor on my shelf :pacspit:

Hell yes Alex Rodriguez belongs in the hall of fame, as do Clemens, Barry, Big Mac, and Sammy Sosa.

Edit: Manny Ramirez needs to be in the hall too

AYoo, fukk BUD SELIG! bytches tried to ruin the Astros by switching us to (back then) the toughest division in ball instead of putting the team he used to play for (Brewers) back in the AL. That and those snide ass comments always siding with ownership, can’t stand his greasy ass.

There is zero credible evidence that Alex Rodriguez was on steroids in high school.

His family was way too poor for that to begin with.
And if you've ever even seen photos of him at Westminster High School, literally nothing about his body suggests steroid use. At all.
