One of the GOATs, and he'd sure as hell have my vote. I like A-Rod, though. I'm a hypocrite because I'm not so gungho about Clemens and Bonds. And I'd never vote in Raf Palmeiro. I need to make my mind up where I stand on this shyt someday :francis:

I'm kind of the same way. Sometimes I feel that since everyone was probably cheating and it was encouraged by teams, owners and fans it's unfair to punish individual players. On the other hand, if someone was caught violating the rules of the game, I can't begrudge someone who wouldn't give him their vote for the hall. If someone is just suspected though? fukk that. It's not right to deny that kind of honor based on rumors and suspicion.

Also, I hate the holier than thou protecting the integrity of the hall of fame thing a lot of these writers try to cloak themselves in. I'd like to see one of them protect the integrity of the hall of fame and call for the removal of some of the numerous scumbags in there now.

The "new way" of thinking is definitely in line with what you're saying. When the guard changes and you have the sportswriters who are now 20-30 years old making the votes? I think that's when you'll see a change.

But it's so tough to call. You gotta think Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and A-Rod will not be kept out of the Hall of Fame forever.

I've read many an article with opposing views on the issue and I still don't know where I stand on it and that's why I'm rambling right now lol.

Yes, but he won't get it. Whatever, he's still a HOFer in my eyes. All these guys need to just say "fukk The HOF" anyways.

Don't let a bunch of old CACs define your legacy :camby:

Ain't many everyday players from the late 90's early 00's gonna come close to getting in 1st ballot if at all. It's crazy how guys like Ortiz and Pettitte got a pass for using steroids though compared to everyone else they treat Petitte like a Yankee Icon while a nikka like Bernie Williams gets little dap at all.

First ballot? No

Should he get in tho, yes...

I believe all the steroid guys should be in when it comes to clemons/bonds era also, due to the fact that you cant vote anyone in from that era and be positive they didnt use anything at any point....

The Hall Of Fame would be a lot smaller if everyone who cheated were removed.

Hank Aaron wouldn't be in, for example.

Arguing about what was or wasn't explicitly banned at the time doesn't much matter to me. They were all performance enhancing substances.
