I think I was in West Hartford? Tbh my uncle was showing me where he grew up at, so I’m only saying what I observed in my limited time up there lol...I preferred Cos Cob in Greenwich, but to each his own, king.
I went to college in CT. Our school had a program that paid students to find jobs and stay in CT after they graduated because even the kids that grew up there moved out at such a high rate. It’s the cost of living in NYC with absolutely none of the perks. New Haven is as bad as its reputation and driving down Dixwell ave after 8 is something I don’t think I would ever want to do again.
Louie’s Lunchbox and Pepe’s are my only reasons for wanting to make a pit stop anywhere in CT though
Cost of living is not as high as NY and especially not NYC but CT cities are definitely over priced. You're more likely to find peace and quiet in CT though. A lot of New Yorkers actually do just that.
It's really a suburban state. It's a decent spot to raise a family and be low key. Good education and health services for the most part. Underrated cuisine. Beach access and good location to New York boston or Rhode Island. Its certainly not the worst state in new england

in New Haven area. Cost of living is high. Lots of rich neighborhoods close to NYC. The thing about CT is it's so small that you'd be about an hour or two at the most from NYC and from Boston and from the Rhode island beaches that are nicer than the CT beaches.
But Hartford/Bridgeport are not cities that people really wanna go to. They got a ton of violence and nothing to do. That's why CT residents drive to NYC/Boston or the beach
That water area in Milford is actually pretty nice surprisingly. But Rocky Neck beach isnt great. The play is Foxwoods and Misquamicut

There's some nice beaches in rhode island that aren't as crowded. But yeah.. for entertainment people gonna def go to the casinos. Either Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun
The bigger acts usually go to Mohegan Sun. Bad Bunny done shows there
