Some of these nikkas only got that one thing... they definitely milked it to death... but if he had more, he woulda had more.
Dropped The Ball? What was to be happened

Desiigner had crazy potential... , although people say he reminded them of future, his flow was unheard of. That’s why that Panda song went as crazy as it did.

Not sure, but Kanye dropped the ball with Desiigner. They milked that Panda for every penny and turned Desiigner into a gimmick as a result.

yeah this is a really good point. GOOD allowed him to get in the studio with Mike Dean, but I can't help but think what would have happened if he just did his own thing with his local team, grew naturally, and built out a real fanbase. He was working with Mekado from Brooklyn who is a really dope producer and all around legit artist. Feels like they could have really done something locally and started a wave.

On top of that, and I don't think I'm really blowing up any spots here, Desiigner had real actual ties to the Woo v. Choo shyt which has now turned into a musical movement on it's own (for better or worse). But at this point if he started hopping on NY Drill type beats it'd feel forced and corny.

I know these kids come from fukked up situations and the first out they get, they're going to take. I don't fault them for that. But it'd be cool to see more people make something for themselves instead of signing to a rapper the first chance they get. There are more resources and options now than there's ever been to make that happen, but it's countless recent stories of some kid signing to a rapper, and then 1-2 years later crying the blues about not dropping, getting jerked, being broke, etc. Take a look at what happened with Jay Critch...another example

Desiigner has 2.6 MM followers on IG right now. The industry machine made that happen. But if shows were allowed to happen, what are the odds he could fill a 3000 person capacity venue as a headliner right now? What are the odds he'd sell 5,000 hoodies / t-shirts if he dropped a merch pack? Album sales?
