The pioneer ny rappers were good. Curtis blow sugar hill gang Chuck d 'll cool j. Whoodini Rakim big daddy Kane krs one
Salt n pepa kool moe dee etc. But alot of ny rappers after them have been overrated. Half of them wouldn't be known if they was from Ohio or Sacramento or the bay area. Ny has the biggest market and media so even a local ny rapper will be known by half the country. Troy ave maino uncle murda utter trash and they known by alot of people.

I respect the south and west grind it's harder to come out this way in west coast because not the same labels media or opportunity like in ny. So the fact ny down show they lazy cause they have a built in advantage. The south been dominant twelve years switching up they sound and flooding the market with different rappers. That a winning strategy

Call a rapper who willingly waits 5 years to drop an album a bad example of being lazy.

He's a harder working version of Lloyd Banks
is that the argument your running with is "he dosent release enough albums"?

yet you brought yo gotti and plies in the discussion who drops an average of 2-3 mix tapes a year and tours off of them?

:russell: It's a combination of things, the music just isn't that good, period. The notion that there are all these hidden superstars in these ny streets held back by x y z is bullshyt. The city is dead culturally, everything we make is just a generic rendition of other regions shyt, some of these nikkas making decent block music for their block but nothing that is going to shake the game

If you gonna jack the Chi style then at least flash some military grade weapons. :scust:

Some soft drill music here.:scust:

And I'm from NY..

This is supposed to be a hip-hop forum, but Fabolous is as lazy as Jay Electronica? :dwillhuh:
He released a mixtape series leading up to his album.
You guys got spoiled by Lil Wayne in the mid-2000s and expect everyone else on the planet to act like the kids who came after him and drop 2 mistapes a year, one album, and appear on 32 different singles across genres :dame:
NY rappers remember when it wasn't that necessary to drop new material everything time they turned around to keep up buzz. Just craft a fantastic project every year/other year.

Exactly. Cats have ADD and want rappers to drop hundreds of songs per year, but somehow minds can marinate all those verses and appreciate sub par music given for free. :heh:
