I agree with Megaton's premise, just not all of his supporting details but you're missing the basic point...you can go platinum but if the label spent diamond money on you, they're taking a loss.
Ye's sales up unto this point have always justified his budget. How do we know Ye has a Ricky Rozay sized budget?...Let's look at his elaborate tours, mini-movies and the credits of all those involved on his projects for starters.
If DJ blew a sizable amount of the bank roll betting on Ye - or anybody for that matter, they're going to tighten the strings on EVERYBODY else if the gamble doesn't pay off.

That Ross album is getting a pushback though, I don't think they'll release one of their biggest artists in 2 weeks, with absolutely nothing going on. They should throw those trap singles in the bushes and I might care a little more.

Still don't see it, Pusha and Sean's videos look minimalistic because they letting Ye and Donda do their creative stuff which is usually simple. If anything it says something about Ye's brand that the only rap releases this year have come from GOOD music affiliated rappers.
