Kanye is SUPPOSED to get the bigger budget, he's the biggest artist over there.

2 chainz flopped because after his first album dropped the nikka STOPPED doing features. Then when he started up again his verses were TRASH. Then he dropped Feds Watching which is a dope song but not the big single he needed. Also the album was trash. HE KILLED HIS OWN BUZZ.

Sean flopped because the nikka decided to make an introspective, meaningful album, instead of a banger. Dumb nikka CHOSE to make no hits. He shoulda saved this meaningful shyt for a mixtape and put more hits on the board. HE KILLED HIS OWN BUZZ

My nikka pusha Shocked the World and came with a dope album, A 3.5/5 for me. Did better than everybody expected and DEF JAM still won't take the rubber band of that bankroll. Where's the MEDIUM budget video for Let Me Love You (with the mase appearance or homage)? Pusha got Everybody on his dikk from rappity rap nikkas to the bloggers to the hipsters to the uk/alt scene and DEF JAM still fukkin up. Why is that Kanye's fault?

Yea they opened up the budget for Kanye because he is a big artist THAT SELLS ALOT. They don't just open up the budget because he's 'Kanye West' they do it because he usually generates a ton of money.

If they sank a ton of money into marketing and don't sell albums they don't get their return. This effects other parts of the business for sure. When your best product line performs poorly then it hurts other products as well.

The album is going gold, kanye is buzzing (albeit for the wrong reasons) and his tour is doing numbers nationwide. have you read anything i've said? it's like y'all can't fathom the idea that Kanye is at fault along with Def Jam for his project not being a success..... he made the music, and Def Jam put all their promo into it... it didn't sell, and because of that, they couldn't properly promote any of their other projects.

Me liking the album, his LiveNation ( not DEF JAM) backed tour, his Gold album ( despite 5 rappers outselling him)...or when you thought "Feds Watching" came out.... has nothing to do with the actual topic of this thread.

It's Kanyes fault.... cause he made the album, his music did not sell....Fans decided that they would rather buy Drake, Lil Wayne,J Cole,Eminem and Jay-Z's albums instead.

It's Def Jams fault...cause they pegged all their hopes on one project, while having multiple acts who've proven that they can sell fairly well.....and when shyt didn't go the way they expected, they don't have a way to make up for their lack of foresight.


regardless if you feel that Kanye deserved all of Def Jam's promo funding... his music did not sell. 5 other albums outsold his album...because his music didn't sell, the others on the label were are subsequently affected.
