Came quick as hell. This smells like an improved version of LV Imagination just more tea and orange. The vetiver, musk, and sandalwood dry down sets it apart. Really like this.

What’s this? :dwillhuh:

And I don’t remember if y’all told me bout scents of mood site, it’s the only site that got Pacific Chill and other LV samples. Is this site legit? :jbhmm:

So I ain't balling like y'all but sites like decantx has been feeding a brother. I'm a bit new to the cologne game so I'm still trying to find my scent but it seems like the woodsy, sweeter ones are the ones I like. The ones I got right now:

Brioni Intense
Creed Aventus
Gucci Guilty
Burberry Hero
Luna Rossa Sport
Azarro Most Wanted
Dior Suavage
Polo Black
Acqua di Parma

I will say that I find Creed Aventus my least favorite of this bunch I find that lemon scent really overpowering but that Gucci Guilty is probably the one I get most compliments on.

You will find your own style of scents that work with your skin, I did not like Creed Aventus either.

I bought a full size bottle of Aventus and luckily I was able to return it lol. The lesson I learned is to to buy overly hyped perfumes, because perfume companies will pay influencers and people to boost their products.

SOTM - Waterways Spell

Got damn pacc finally arrived after weeks waiting on dat 1 backorder for da Mind games joint, smh. Anyways, this joint right here is pretty smooth. The open is standard---watery but not soapy, bergamot bright as hell---I wanted some more of that mandarin to come thru. The drydown is the more interesting aspect tho...green pepper and Violet leaf @ da heart and the base rounds it off on da earthy tip with some clary sage, lichen, oakmoss. Nothing extra special but decent spring/summer joint.

I feel the exact same way about Creed Adventus, I wasn't feeling it either

Gucci Guilty, Dior Sauvage and Most Wanted are all good

SOTD - Andy Tauer - Sundowner

Tauer is known for L'Air du Desert Marocain. One of the first niche hypebeasts* that I came across.

YOU'VE GOT TO GET YOUR NOSE ON THIS..

I did, and it was okay.

Andy is a self trained perfumer (there's a major school in France, called Grasse(?)). This getting "popular" is consideded quite rare.

Sundowner is his Tobacco offering.

Scent - It starts out with the fermented leaf of tobacco used as a rolling paper, but also the brown earthiness/but not so harshness of Mancera's Red Tobacco.

As Tobacco's go, I tend to like the leaf smell over the "red/cherry tobacco" types, but my fave is the baking spices/vanillic type of tobacco - which can be a cigar or a pipe (or at least my idea of what those smell like).

Not something i'd invest in, but it's interesting nonetheless.

*Other Niche Hypebeasts - Maybe a few of these are FB worthy - maybe. But they're all at least worth a 1ml to get an idea of what people are talking about.
  • Le Labo - Santal 33
    • The Noir 28, and Gaiac 10 are 2 more hypebeasts from LL
  • MFK - Baccarat Rouge 540
    • possibly the most popular joint I smell on a regular basis. Men and women alike, but its a bit too cotton candy sweet for me.
  • Creed - Aventus
    • Green Irish Tweed and Virgin Island Water are the other hyped ones here.
  • Byredo - Gypsy Water
  • PDM - Layton
    • Back then, Herod was big. Today it's Althair and Perseus.
  • Mancera - Red Tobacco
  • Memo - African Leather
    • Memo has a bunch of other leather fragrances, and I haven't tried any of the others
  • Marc Antoine Barrois - Ganymede
  • Kerosene - Followed - a nuclear maple scent
  • Orto Parisi - Megamare - a super long lasting seaweed/marine/salt scent
  • Zoologist - Squid
    • Toronto based perfumer that makes fragrances based on the idea of an animal. Squid is squid ink - which is ink and the sea type notes. The "scary" one from them is Tyranosaurus Rex - which smells like burning woods to me. It's considered to be challening, but I don't find it that hard to wear during the colder months.
  • Frederic Malle - Musc Ravageur and Portrait of a Lady
    • POAL is considered a man's rose
Out of these, I really reccomend Herod, Green Irish Tweed, Virgin Island Water, and Musc Ravageur.

SOTD - YSL - Babycat

Another hypebeast, but from the "higher end" line of YSL.

This is just a spicy vanilla, and not particularly spicy. One of the Mercedez Benz joints is a better vanilla than this. I'm not sure this is worth even getting 2mls of, because it's not really that interesting....but.....

It's a hypebeast because it may or may not have been available in the states, and was hard to get in Europe. (That may have changed)

Sebastian hyped this joint up, and a lot of the YT influencers jumped on the band wagon.

The thing to understand is that there's 1) designer, 2) niche (and indie), and then 3) the "private line" stuff from designers.

So designer is in the $100-125 range
Niche is offered at 250-400, but frequently available on the grey market, at 50% mark down (PDM is an example) (and a lot of these niche brands end up being owned by big designer houses or private equity....)

But "private line" is usually more expensive, and harder to find on the discount market.

You'll notice that most of the influencers never talk about the "private line" stuff. They'll talk about "1,000" a bottle Boadicea the Victorious, but it's rare that you see the prive line

Armani has Prive.

Chanel has Le Exclusifs

Versace has Atelier

Tom Ford has it's Private Blend (stuff like Ombre Leather is in their "signature" collection)

YSL has it's Le Vestiaire collection

Dior has it's La Collection Privee

And I could go down the line. Name the designer, and they have a 3x cost line of fragrances that rarely get any sort of coverage on YT/IG/TikTok.

So I tried using Aventus with the Brioni and I felt like the Brioni helped to balance the Aventus. I been experimenting with using multiple colognes. Right now I'm using Luna Rossa Sport and Gucci Guilty

Yea I'm finding out of that list I enjoy these the most.

Gucci Guilty
Brioni Intense
Azarro Most Wanted
Luna Rossa Sport
Polo Black

I'm still trying to figure out if they actually work on my skin or I'm just too caught up in liking the way that they smell.

I would love to buy the full bottles but shyt expensive as hell ( Gucci Guilty is $183 for that small ass bottle :mjcry:)so I'm gonna rock with decantx till my money gets up there:russ:
